My dinner: HK$63 = US$8 for a bowl of bean and vegetable soup, mock char siu, green vegetables -- plus a bowl of rice. It is so convenient and cheaper than cooking for myself.
The mock char siu is tasty. It doesn't really resemble ###X. It is a bean protein with Chinese herbs.
The condiment pot is the Yat Sum house-made chili oil. It is rather excellent. The main ingredients are fresh red chillis, tomatoes, mushrooms, and vegetable oil. You can buy jars of it to take home.
Yat Sum = a Hong Kong vegan eatery = a workers' canteen in Tsim Sha Tsui with ~34 seats and a tasty fully-vegan menu, free from eggs and dairy.
Yat Sum
Rm 206, 2/F, Universal Commercial Building, 65-69 Peking Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
Only slightly busy during weekday lunch times, they don't advertise and more customers are definitely needed, especially on weekdays 11:00 to midday, during the afternoon, and all day on weekends.
Meals are served from 11:00 until late 7 days a week. They don't close in the afternoon. Share a table with local diners.
Getting there: a few steps from Exit H, Tsim Sha Tsui / East Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station
https://g.co/kgs/3yHP5vW -- Google incorrectly calls Yat Sum a restaurant. It is simply a sit-down eatery.
