Our family’s story began over a century ago.
In the early 1920s, my grandfather Tjio Ee Chio (蔣以朝)left Fujian, China, and journeyed to Surabaya, Indonesia, with little more than determination. After years of hard work, he opened his first restaurant around 1923. Although it served a blend of Javanese and Indonesian Chinese cuisine, he named it Singapore Restaurant, as Singapore represented a modern and fashionable city in those days.
That humble restaurant became the root of our family’s journey in Indonesia.
Years later, my father carried that legacy to Hong Kong, where he continued sharing the flavors and spirit of Indonesian cuisine with a new generation.
Every dish we have served is part of a story that began with one man’s courage to chase a dream.
