Another weekend, another Sunday Brunch, and another fun garden fact!!! 🌿🌸

This week’s Sunday Brunch Menu selection was created to celebrate Education Month! And, of course, our garden fun fact follows the theme too!

While you will not find a Victoria Amazonica growing in our garden, we thought Guyana’s national flower was the perfect way to connect this week’s menu with the spirit of Education Month. 🇬🇾📚

The Victoria Amazonica, Guyana’s national flower, is known for its remarkable strength and resilience. Its enormous floating leaves are supported by a strong network of ribs beneath the surface, allowing them to withstand considerable weight.

Much like our students, what we see on the surface is only part of the story. With a strong foundation, support, and the opportunity to grow, we can rise above challenges and flourish.

This Education Month, we celebrate the students, teachers, families, and communities who help shape a brighter future.

With every Sunday Brunch Menu, we will be sharing a fun fact about one of the many beautiful flora found around herdmanston lodge and our Queenstown neighborhood.🌺

🌸 Did you know? The Heliconia flower is named after Mount Helicon in Greece, which was believed to be home to the Muses, the goddesses of the arts and sciences.
