Five minutes from the Marina, the Sailfish Oasis Lodge is the perfect place to relax after a long day of fishing. September is maintenance month!! Rooms getting fresh licks of paint, new vanities and shower heads and of course the all-important pool maintenance, replacing tiles and re-grouting. The crew are busy on the boat as well as we count down to an Oct 9th opening. Everything will be 👌🏽. We still have some excellent options in November and December, typically exceptional months. The water temps offshore are coming back to normal and thus could be the start to an incredible season if we think back to the last post El Niño event of 2015......2016 was some of the craziest fishing we've ever experienced.

We appreciate innovation and were more than happy when Sam Conner from SENECA Reels gave us one of his 50R's to test out these past couple of months.
Sam and his team have developed these reels out of carbon fiber monocoque construction. They have TC4 Titanium drag cams and oversized stainless steel 316 gearing.
Titanium reel seat, handle and rod clamp, silky smooth carbon drag system and fail-safe triple pawl anti-reverse. And the result is a fully loaded reel (Dacron/50lb mono top-shot) of well over 1000yd line capacity weighs a little under 4lbs!
Crazy. Ideal for pitch baiting as they are super light and easy to handle, especially for standup fishing though easy to maneuver for the chair as well.
El Niño gave us a tough time these past months so we didn't give it the workout we were hoping for though we did get into a decent blue and a few tunas on it and were well impressed. Incredibly light and super tough.
They're constantly refining and developing and we're looking forward to giving the 20's a workout when they come out.
