AA Rung’eto Karimikui
Situated on the slopes of Mount Kenya, between 1,600 and 1,800 meters above sea level, Karimikui Coffee Factory is part of the Rung’eto Farmers Cooperative Society. Established in 1966, the factory serves smallholder producers from the villages of Githureia, Gituba, and Kia Mugumo—an area better known for tea cultivation, yet capable of producing remarkably intense and flavour-dense coffees.
This lot is composed predominantly of SL28 and SL34, varieties celebrated for their vibrant acidity, complexity, and expressive fruit character. After careful cherry selection, the coffee is pulped and fermented overnight before being washed, graded, and dried on raised tables for 8–14 days. Tiled washing channels and fermentation tanks, together with water-recycling practices, reflect the cooperative’s continued focus on quality and responsible processing.
The result is a sweet, juicy, and floral Kenyan coffee with exceptional depth and clarity. Notes of apricot, honey, apple jam, dried mango, caramel, black tea, acidity of dark berries and ripe stone fruit create a layered and expressive cup—a distinctive lot that showcases the precision of Karimikui’s processing and the remarkable character of the Rung’eto terroir.

Dhilgee Danche
Produced near the Danche Washing Station in Chelbesa, Gedeo, this organic lot brings together the harvests of approximately 400 smallholder farmers. Their farms sit at remarkable elevations of 2,000 to 2,300 meters above sea level, where the cooler climate and extended cherry maturation contribute to the coffee’s complexity, clarity, and depth.
This lot features Ethiopia’s indigenous heirloom varieties and is processed using the natural method. Carefully selected ripe cherries are dried slowly on raised African beds, allowing the fruit to develop a rich sweetness while preserving the elegant floral and citrus qualities associated with high-altitude Ethiopian coffees.
The result is a complex and beautifully structured cup, combining honey, rose, citrus, peach candy, apricot, dark fruit, and lychee. Floral and herbal tea-like in character, it has a long, coating finish with a lingering sweetness reminiscent of red berry jam.

Produced in Marcala, Honduras, El Pantanal comes from Marysabel Caballero and Moises Herrera, long-standing partners of Nordic Approach and some of the country’s most respected specialty coffee producers. Drawing on generations of coffee-growing experience, the Caballero family is known for its meticulous approach to cultivation and processing, with a consistent focus on quality and sustainability.
This lot features the Catuai variety, grown in the distinctive clay-rich soils of the region. Through a carefully controlled washed process, the coffee develops a clean and balanced profile that highlights both its fruit character and its refined sweetness.
The result is an elegant and comforting cup with notes of yellow apple, dried yellow fruit, dark berries, and black tea, supported by a smooth milk chocolate sweetness—a beautifully structured expression of the Caballero family’s precision and experience.
