Souvlaki: a Santorini favorite with some serious history behind it. 🔥🍢🇬🇷

Long before today’s grill houses, people on Santorini were already grilling meat on skewers over hot coals. Archaeological finds from Akrotiri include special cooking supports for skewers dating back to the Bronze Age, before the volcanic eruption of the 17th century BC — more than 3,500 years ago! (Greece Is)
