Some guests never really leave… ❤️
In 2014, Christine came to one of our cooking classes in Paros. We cooked together, laughed together, and then, as happens every summer, she went home.
A few years later, on my very first trip to New York, I posted a photo from Times Square.
Within minutes:
“Stella, are you in New York???”
It was Christine.
Before I had even made it back to my hotel, she had invited Dimitris and me to the restaurant she was managing. She welcomed us and treated us like royalty.
And now, all these years later, Christine walked through our door in Paros again — this time with her wonderful husband, George. ❤️
We cooked again. We laughed again. And yes… we took another photo.
Looking at these two photographs, taken so many years apart, I realise once again what the greatest gift of hospitality has been to me.
The people. The connections. The friendships that somehow survive years, kilometres and even oceans.
So here is the full story of Christine — from Paros to New York and back to Paros again.
And as we say in Greece…
“Να ο ψεύτης, να και ο μάρτυράς του!” 😂
This time, I even have the photos to prove it! ❤️
