Our third and final (day)trip this off-season kept us closer to home—and reminded us how special Samos really is 🍇
We took the Avli team to visit our friends at Kostaki Winery, set in a beautiful part of the island that perfectly captures the spirit of Samian wine. It was the perfect chance for all of us to taste, learn, and spend time together around wines we truly believe in.
We’re excited to be adding more of their range to our list this year:
✨ Alo – a fresh, vibrant white
🌸 Their new rosé
🥂 Ancestral method sparkling

Our second winter adventure—disguised (as always) as “research & development” took us to Kavala in northern Greece. We visited the lovely team behind some of our favorite wines at Biblia Chora walking the vineyards, tasting at the source, and connecting with the people and passion behind every bottle reminded us why we chose to share these wines with you in the first place.
At Avli, all labels we have are of wines that we love to drink ourselves and Biblia Chora wines are particularly high on the list. We can’t wait for you to experience it with us back in Kokkari.
Summer is almost upon us🍷✨

Off-season rest and research adventures 🌵✨ This winter we traded the Aegean for the Americas starting with the agave fields of Mexico 🇲🇽 — visiting El Conejo and his family at their beautiful palenque (mezcal distillery) in Oaxaca.
We spent time learning about traditional mezcal-making using the ancestral method, from roasting the hearts of the agave underground to the slow distillation that captures the true spirit of the land.
At Avli we love exploring different parts of the world in the winter time learning about the local food and drink culture, always looking to bring that inspiration back to Samos to share with you. So keep an eye on the cocktail list this year if you love mezcal as much as we do 🍹
Here’s to good mezcal, real connection, and always staying curious about what’s on the table 🥂

Avli will be closed 4th October until 7th October for the wedding of the century! Our owners Andy & Aphrodite are tying the knot therefore will be enjoying a few days celebrations. We will be open again 8th October for the remaining week of the season. Our last Greek night will be Thursday October 2nd, and our last live music evening will be rock and blues Friday October 3rd. Until then we welcome you in Avli.. 💙
