An 8 year journey woven around one single thread: to build something of my own while sharing my love of cooking.
The Netherlands was where I found my individuality. It was where I learned to express who I was becoming and to be fearless. I didn't know anything and it felt scary to do everything 'adult' for the first time.
I planted the seed of who I want to be and I showed up—to the cafés, to the people, even to the food bank, and to the community that nurtured my cookie business.
Six and a half years later, life brought me back to Japan after I ended my marriage. I carried the hope for a fresh start but with a deep sense of uncertainty.
Time passed with the seasons and I started my second project...
Greece. The warmth of its people invited me to begin again with a new angle. This time not only did I sell cookies but I also taught how to cook a Japanese meal.
In Kavala, I met compassion and passion in every soul. Here I worked together with the people who shared something fundamental with me—to look towards a bright and thriving future.
I learned to support, be supported, and to be humble through accelerated times. I let go when things stopped working and projects failed.
I planted the seed of grace and I trusted the process from within and out.
When I returned to Japan once again, in some ways I felt like I'd failed. A 'make it or break it' kind of deal pushed me to leave Greece when I really didn't want to.
..three years have passed since then.
Now this page will hold a third energy with a project I'm birthing with my partner. Having connected with the feeling of 'home' within myself has allowed me to grow roots in the country where I was born and raised.
The love for cooking led me to experiment with baking and package a cookie box for strangers.
✧
The risks I took nudged me to knock on café doors with a project idea and teach someone to make sushi for the very first time.
✧
And it's the kindness of the people I met in each and every country that has carried my project this far.
This next chapter, our kitchen car ‘Rosemary Rye’, is visioning for 2027.💖
