Margo Taverna is at the west end of Plateia Nymfon (Nymphs Square) in Old Hersonissos, an ancient village nestled on the hip of Mt. Harakas. While only a few kilometers from crowded streets and resorts in the Port of Hersonissos, we are centuries apart in history and in charm. Margo specializes in traditional Cretan dishes, but we also offer international cuisine prepared by one of the best chefs
in the area. Everything is served by a friendly multi-lingual staff. Margo is the perfect place to enjoy fine island foods or just spend an afternoon sipping cool refreshments and watching the flow of village life. On Monday nights from June through September, the village square hosts Cretan musicians and dancers in traditional costume to entertain visitors. This is always popular, so diners should call for reservations or come early to claim a table with a view. Also remember to wear comfortable shoes, as the dancers may be invite you to join them.
