As much love as was put into Portes Restaurant is now being put into Wake and Bake sandwich shop. Day 1 tomorrow. Best wishes to the boys and καλές δουλειές.

"As of the end of this month I am closing Portes." A difficult decision for me as Portes Restaurant has been a huge chunk of my life for the last 18 years. I truly believe we created something special here. I raised my lads in this restaurant, I started when the were very young boys and have seen them grow into the men they are today,always there,always having my back even when it wasn't easy. I love them and thank them . Then there is Nektarios so kind and generous of his time,work, support,food and wine as many of you will attest to! Truly a pillar of strength . To all the staff throughout the years, I thank you. I tried to be an employer but not the boss of anyone . Luckily for me many of you are dear friends today. To you the many many guests, YOU made it all worthwhile. I have been blessed and have forged lifelong friendships with many of you, I have had the pleasure of conversing with such a diversity of people that have enlightened ,educated and sustained me with plenty of laughs along the way. (I do tell a good joke !! ) Thank you all so very much.
