Equestrian Expedition: long-distance travel with horses
In Georgia, the tradition of herding horses from the lowlands to the mountain uplands and from the mountains back to the lowlands’ pastures has kept. This is beautiful, a very emotional and interesting process. Most of our horses are taken to summer green
pastures in the mountains every spring, we organize mountain tours there in the summer, and in October horses are taken back to the lowland pastures. Experienced riders are invited to this amazing journey. Covering 170 km in 5 days, with beautiful creatures, from
Tusheti through the Pshaveli to the forests of Sabaduri!
The itinerary:
Day 1: Tbilisi – Omalo (Driving)
Day 2: Omalo – Shenako – Diklo – Omalo (Riding)
Day 3: Omalo – Sakheo – Omalo – Camping Area (Riding)
Day 4: Camping area – Abano Pass – Pshaveli – (Riding)
Day 5: Pshaveli – Tbilisi (Driving)
Extension:
Day 5: Pshaveli – Alvani – Sabue (Riding)
Day 6: Sabue – Sioni – Sabaduri – Tbilisi (Riding and driving)
Price per person in USD: 750 USD
Single room supplement: 55 USD
Extinction for extra 2-day riding: 250 USD per person
Included: 4 nights accommodation at local guesthouses, 5 picnic lunches, 5 dinners,
horses & Guides, backup 4WD vehicle on day 1, 4 and 5, water.
Not included: Insurance, alcohol beverages, any additional service not mentioned above.
Type of Horses: Typical Caucasian Horses (well trained, strong)
Type of saddles: Upon Request Western or Caucasian (can be decided at the spot)
