Truso Valley, source of Tegri (Terek) River is quite mystical and spectacular , worth hitchhiking+hiking if you happen to be in Kazbegi for more than a day. Truso valley is known for its mineral water springs, white/yellow travertines, mineral lake with bubbles, towers of middle ages, - most notably Zakagori castle, villages on a very high altitude.

ახალი თაობის გამორჩეული მთამსვლელები არჩილ ბადრიაშვილი და გიორგი ტეფნაძე პაკისტანში, მსოფლიოს მე-9 მწვერვალზე, 8126 მეტრი სიმაღლის - ნანგა პარბატზე ავიდნენ. ზუსტად, 66 წლის შემდეგ, რაც სიკვდილის მთა ადამიანს დანებდა, მის წვერზე პირველად საქართველოს ეროვნული დროშა აფრიალდა. 🙌

The village of Juta is one of the highest settlements (2200 m) in the municipality of Kazbegi, and is located 24 km from Stepantsminda (8 km of paved road, and the remainder is a dirt road). The Chaukhi mountain range, located near the village, is situated on the main ridge of the Caucasus mountain range, at the source of the river Bakurkhevi.
