🧪🍫 Something new is taking shape at Belmont Estate!

Today was Day 1 of an exciting three-day product development session at our Chocolate Factory with food technologist Matthew Escalante of Trinidad, a consultant with the International Trade Centre (ITC).

Behind every new product is much more than a great idea. There is food science, formulation, careful measurement, ingredient selection, testing, tasting, discussion and plenty of calculations!

Our team spent the day working alongside Matthew, exploring how we can take the wonderful ingredients we grow and work with here in Grenada and transform them into innovative, high-quality products that are delicious, wholesome and distinctly ours. 🇬🇩🌿

At Belmont Estate, product development is part of our commitment to keep learning, innovating and adding value to what we grow, while creating products that people can genuinely enjoy.

And this is only Day 1! 👀

Building Healthy Habits from an Early Age!

Last Friday, our Belmont Estate Ambassador had the pleasure of visiting St. Patrick’s R.C. School to deliver a fun and engaging hygiene presentation to a kindergarten class.

With the support of the Belmont Foundation and Belle Organics, each child received mini, child-safe soaps and toothbrushes to help encourage healthy hygiene habits from an early age.

A heartfelt thank you to St. Patrick’s R.C. School for the invitation and for allowing us to contribute to the growth, development, and well-being of our youngest learners.

There’s more to a cashew than the nut!

When we think of cashews, most of us think about the delicious nut we snack on. But did you know the cashew fruit actually has two parts we can talk about?

The cashew apple is the fleshy, colourful part of the fruit. It is juicy, naturally sweet, and can be enjoyed fresh or used to make juices, preserves and other products.

Then there’s the cashew nut, which develops at the bottom of the cashew apple, protected inside a hard shell.

And getting that nut separated from the apple? It can certainly take some creativity! 👀

This reel shows an interesting hands on way of separating the two, turning a simple agricultural task into a demonstration of ingenuity.

Nature gives us the fruit. Sometimes, people find their own clever ways to work with it.
