Based at Whixley we are within easy reach of Harrogate, Wetherby and York one mile off the A59 on the B6265 towards Boroughbridge. Here at Tancred Farm Shop we specialise in quality meat and produce. What can’t be grown on the farm is sourced as locally as possible. The Coffee shop offers an excellent opportunity to call in for breakfast or a quick cup of tea and a cake or perhaps even to stay for

lunch. Our meals are freshly made to order and homemade cakes are served all day, along with a large selection of coffees, teas and soft drinks. The welcome you'll receive will be as warm and hearty as the food you'll be served. Our Coffee shop has also recently been awarded with the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence.

Don't tell Dean's new friend but we have slowly roasted some pork shoulders for hog roast sandwiches 😋 😜. Absolutely delicious! They are a snip at £7.95 and they come with chips and coleslaw. They are on the specials board until it's all gone so if you fancy one pop down. Farmers markets this Saturday morning!
Hi all! This morning we are heading to our regular first Saturday in the month Farmers markets at Horsforth for Angela in Leeds and Hovingham for me over towards Malton. We will be bringing the beef! Our own Lincoln red beef is in excellent form after a summer grazing (well at least the grass is growing again now). Our sausages are always popular, as is our Tancred special which contains a pork roasting joint, 3 trays of sausages and a pack of bacon all together for £20. Beef mince, grass fed for fuller flavour and since the weather cooled down a bit we have been selling loads. Mary had to make an extra batch last Sunday morning even (that's dedication 👏) lamb is also benefiting from the grass especially I believe for a blade bone in shoulder for roasting slowly 🐌 All the usual goodies in the shop as well so hopefully we will see you somewhere over the weekend. Otley farmers market!
This morning Angela and Sam are heading to Otley farmers market held in the Square this morning 9:30 till lunchtime if you fancy having a look over there? There are also lots of other stalls as well it definitely worth a visit. Here at the shop we are 10 till 4pm today and tomorrow as it's a bank holiday we are 10 till 4pm then as well. Steak night was a fantastic night Friday we were full and had lots of lovely comments from lots of happy customers 😀 Thanks to all of you who came along Friday for that. Busy day in the shop yesterday as well but as you know we like to be busy so hopefully see you soon? Thanks for your support it is greatly appreciated by us! Weather for the weekend?
Who knows 🤷‍♀️ so we have done some oven ready to cook things for the counter as well as some barbecue staples.
Garlic lamb croquettes are new. They come in an oven tray and take 40mins at 180° approximately. Chicken Braemar stuffed with black pudding, chicken fungi with mushrooms and mushroom sauce 😋 pepperoni pizza parcels and our ever popular all in one chicken roasts to name a few. As we don't have a market this weekend we have been having a catch up with the bacon curing which means we have lots of spare ribs 😋 so expect to see some of these on special offers in the shop until they are gone! Plenty of other packs on offer as well if you want to come along and check it out. Some diced goat 🐐 in stock today and some Mutton both whilst they last. For your diary it's steak night again next Friday 28th of August you know the drill 8oz fillet, 10oz ribeye or sirloin and 12oz rump is your choice with all the trimmings for £25. I'm thinking of having a 20oz T bone option on for £35 to pre order what do you think 🤔 would that be a goer? Let me know what you think? Hopefully see you soon! Eggstraordinary 🥚 eggs!
In the news over the last week there has been an outbreak of salmonella linked to imported eggs.
So just a reminder about our eggs that they come from Ian Taylor who farms his hens at Burton Leonard. They are free range fresh quality eggs from properly cared for chickens 🐔 and only a good 20 minutes up the road. As well as selling these in the shop we use them for baking and breakfasts etc for the coffee shop. As some of you will know Cath and Margot have a few chickens in the paddock behind the farm shop from which Margot sells some of those eggs as well. They are fed chicken food they don't just have lunch with butcher John as the picture suggests! Hopefully we will see you soon! Curry night?
We couldn't make it much easier could we choice of sauces, choice of meat and some microwave rice and nann bread in stock hey presto!
Madras is my favourite with Mutton. You could have goat meat or chicken 🐔, lamb or beef and I've even heard of people just using vegetables but as a butcher I couldn't advocate that could I (lol). I do like some extra veg in my Curry, a can of chopped tomatoes goes well. Extra onion, courgette and even a handful of sultanas or raisins adds a bit to a dish. Oakwood farmers market today!
Angela,Mary and Sam are at Oakwood farmers market today with some Goat and Mutton as well as the usual goodies. Mary is cooking bacon or sausage butties if one of those would get you set for the day. Well now the pictures I've found are not strictly accurate 😅 Angela won't be on the b**r for a start! Mary won't have Mable the cockapoo with her as she's here with me! Sam's picture does tell the story, as he's married he has to do what the wife tells him 🙄 pop along and see them if you are that way. Near the clock tower at the end of Roundhay Park! Lots of other nice stalls as well definitely worth a look! All the usual things at the shop so hopefully we will see you over the weekend.
