Skosh started simply, as a word that represented a concept. It has evolved into a contemporary dining room in York serving uncomplicated yet refined food, matched with wines and beverages that are served in a comfortable and informal manner. adually served course by course to give you a complete dining experience. Chef proprietor Neil Bentinck and his team of local tradesmen and designers reimagined the space of this Grade II listed building and arranged a bespoke dining room and open plan kitchen to open in May 2016.

Perfectly cooked East Coast hake sits alongside cauliflower in all its glory, with nutty, fragrant dukkah bringing the crunch ๐ŸŒฐ and rich, savoury miso tying everything together ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

It's the kind of dish that quietly gets ordered every service and then has people talking about it all the way home ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’ญ

Simple? Maybe.

For our 10th Anniversary Menu, we've brought back a dish that reminds us of the early days of skosh ๐ŸŽ‰

Lindisfarne oyster, topped with a pickled ginger granita made from pickled ginger, shallots, pepper, vinegar... and just a splash of vodka ๐Ÿธโ„๏ธ (purely for texture, obviously ๐Ÿ‘€).

That's it.

No tweezers. No twenty-seven components. No dramatic tableside smoke machine. Just a beautiful oyster and a punchy, icy hit of pickled ginger ๐ŸคŒ

Sometimes the old dishes were simpler. Sometimes that's exactly the point โค๏ธ

Ten years on, we're still serving the best oysters we can get our hands on ๐Ÿฆชโœจ

One last look at our chocolate bar ๐Ÿซโœจ

A two-day labour of love, layered with feuilletine & peanut ๐Ÿฅœ, milk chocolate mousse, a soft marshmallow-style centre inspired by a certain famous chocolate bar ๐ŸŒ, and tangy tamarind caramel for that sweet-sour-spiced hit ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ

This dessert has now left the menu, and we'll miss it dearly โค๏ธ

But don't be too sad... our June menu is just around the corner as we celebrate 10 years of skosh ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฅ‚ Expect the return of some much-loved favourites from the last decade. We can't wait to share them with you.

Our Baron Bigod crumpet is leaving the menu this weekend, and we're genuinely sad to see it go. ๐Ÿง€

Toasted crumpet topped with creamy Baron Bigod, shaved black summer truffle, spiced rhubarb and toasted hazelnuts - a perfect balance of rich, earthy, sweet and nutty flavours ๐Ÿคโœจ
