We are shocked! Someone just asks how much costs our afternoon tea? We replied £27.99 per person which we feel is too cheap and may increase this soon.. their reply was this is overpriced!! Shocked!

Our afternoon tea experience is enjoyed in the oldest timber framed overhanging house in England built in 1316! We make our afternoon tea fresh to order and ask you what you would like. We use Royal Albert china and the most elegant service sets. It’s custom made fresh for you tell us what you like. We have a huge selection to choose from both sweet and savoury.. tea is unlimited!! There is no time limit to you stay.

All that said and explained we believe we are too cheap! We will review our prices soon but to say we are overpriced is wrong.. we offer quality and those who visit us appreciate it.we may not be for everyone but do not judge us unfairly. ❤️ 🫖 🧁

This is a unique ghost that has been re painted by one of our followers to show us what a ghost dedicated to The Old York Tea Room could look like. They have taken inspiration on our decor and vibe and we love it!!!!!!

Due to work on our new shop, The Old York Cake Shop we unfortunately need to take a little unplanned time. This will mean the tea room will be CLOSED Until Saturday this week. Apologies to those who planned to visit but we honestly are working hard behind the scenes to bring you something new and exciting to York.

Indeed we are in B and Q buying wood as we type this for some New bespoke furniture. Work is developing nicely on the new shop.

Today we had a visit from York Council and a conversation team. They were lovely and very helpful with advise and suggestions. As part of this visit we need to put a new application in for the new fireplace and a couple of bits and bobs but it’s all good. Honestly we appreciated their help.

Exciting times.
