The Browns Keep Pulling

Down at the Nelson the doors stay wide,
No “closing down” signs, no shifting tide —
The Browns are in, and here they’ll stay,
Pouring the pints the good old way.

Pete’s in the kitchen, pans on the boil,
Turning good produce to liquid gold toil,
Nicky’s out front with a smile and a wink,
The hostess with the mostest, quick as you think.

Tom and Danny behind the bar,
Pulling pints near and far,
So rumours be damned, and gossips take note —
Nellie’s stands strong, and that’s all she wrote.
