What an amazing place. Visiting from Newcastle and would happily get the train just to eat here. I had the curry which was delicious and my son loved the chicken and chorizo kebab. The staff were lovely. Very friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. Would highly recommend.

A very friendly welcome and a relaxed feel; exactly what we needed after a day exploring York. The food was fantastic (Cape Malay curry for me). Whilst my choice was fairly straightforward, I did overhear the advice offered to the next table; always nice to hear staff guiding customers over what may have been unfamiliar cuisine.All in all a great experience; highly recommended.Windhoek b**r also a bonus.

We visited Karoo while in York on Honeymoon. Everything about our evening at Karoo was perfect.I moved to Inverness from Cape Town about 4 years ago and any sight or mention of South African food is near non-existent that far up north. So, I was very excited to spot a menu with Bobotie on it just down the road from our hotel. Karoo lived up to providing me with one of my favourite dishes growing up and my wife enjoyed her first experience with braised oxtail and mieliepap. All of our food and drink was amazing.Nathan and Zach were amazing hosts and it was fun speaking a bit of Afrikaans again!We'll definitely be back on our next visit to York.
