✨STILL SPACES AVAILABLE! Thoughtful Thursday✨
Where: Tea by the Lock, Naburn Banqueting Hall, Naburn, York, YO19 4RU
When: 11th of June, 10am till 3pm
What: Wellbeing Stitch workshop.
Cost: £65 including all materials, Lunch, 2 hot drinks & a slice of Cake (£20 deposit online to secure your spot)!
Join us for a one day workshop at Naburn Banqueting Hall, led by Sadie Read, a skilled mix-media & textile artist.
The workshop is a day of mindful stitching with music, to create a calm space to relax and unwind in. We all live busy lives, and with the news and social media doom and gloom we need to find a way to chillax! After a difficult period, I personally found that I was stitching to relieve stress and to calm my mind, but I wasn't stitching for any purpose, as in I wasn't trying to make anything. However it was working and I was still making beautiful work!
One day I found myself in the beautiful surroundings of Tea by the Lock, stitching whilst I had tea and cake. I realised that this would be a fantastic workshop experience for anyone and wanted to share. The workshop is a day that you can enjoy as a beginner or if you are more experienced, because all you need to be able to do is a basic stitch! Together we will create some stitch work, by tapping into your innate creativity, and mark making with thread.
After the workshop you could stay and have a glass of wine watching the sunset, or go for a walk along the river to complete the day, so you go home refreshed and with your batteries recharged, and ideas you can use to create at home.

🐶 Doggy Meet-Up is Back! 🐶

After the success of our last Doggy Meet-Up, we've decided to do it all over again! 🎉

As many of you know, we're VERY animal friendly here at Tea by the Lock, and we loved seeing so many happy dogs (and owners!) enjoying a social evening together.

📅 Friday 19th June
🕕 From 6pm

This time, we'd love to expand on the idea even further!

🐾 We're looking for stall holders who specialise in dog products, such as treats, toys, accessories, grooming products, and more. As we are a vegan tea room, any edible products must be vegan-friendly.

🎤 We'd also love to hear from anyone who works with dogs and might like to give a short talk or demonstration. Whether you're a trainer, behaviourist, therapist, nutritionist, groomer, pet first aider, or anything else dog-related, we'd love to chat. We're open to all sorts of ideas!

🐕 And of course, everyone is welcome to attend! Whether you have a dog, are thinking of getting a dog, or just love being around them, come along for a friendly social evening. It's a great opportunity to meet other dog owners, chat, share advice, and help your dogs socialise too.

We're excited to announce that we're organising the very first LOCKFEST at Tea by the Lock on 1st August, and we're looking for talented musicians to join the lineup!

🌿 Indie • Folk • Acoustic • Singer-Songwriters 🌿

We're particularly keen to hear from artists performing their own original music. We want to showcase emerging talent and give local and regional musicians a platform to share their songs with a new audience.

We're looking for performers throughout the day, from exciting new artists to more established acts. We're also on the lookout for a potential headliner—someone with a larger following and a strong local or regional reputation who can help us make the first Lockfest a memorable event.
