Fancy spending your Saturday afternoon learning how to make proper sushi from scratch?

Soosh Sushi School is back NEXT SATURDAY at the Earthbeat Centre in Saltburn — and you don’t need any previous experience whatsoever.

This is a relaxed, hands-on 2-hour sushi class where I’ll show you step-by-step how to make:

🍣 Temaki hand rolls
🍣 Maki
🍣 Uramaki
🍣 Hosomaki
🍣 Plus your own freestyle creations

You’ll have your own ingredients and workstation, make plenty of sushi, eat some as you go and take the rest home with you.

And yes… 🏆 the legendary SOOSH TROPHIES will be making an appearance for some of my favourite creations of the day!

👨‍👩‍👧 Adults, teenagers and children are all welcome.

Children aged 3–13 attend with an adult either watching or helping.
Ages 14+ can attend independently.

🌱 All dietaries catered for — just let me know when booking.

ALL EYES ON THE SUSHI 👀🍣

There’s always that moment in a Soosh class when everyone gathers round the table to see what’s happening next — kids, parents, complete beginners and sushi lovers all learning together.

And a big thank you to Natalie from Molten Rain Photography for capturing this shot from our class. She came along to photograph the session and absolutely nailed the atmosphere — loads more of her brilliant photos and videos from the day to come. 📸

At Soosh Sushi School, you’ll spend two hours getting hands-on and learning how to make your own sushi from scratch. We’ll work through temaki, maki, uramaki, hosomaki and freestyle rolls, with plenty of tips and guidance along the way.

THAT “I JUST MADE MY OWN SUSHI” FACE 😂🍣

This is exactly what we want at Soosh Sushi School — big smiles, a bit of chaos, plenty of laughs, and a ridiculous amount of sushi to take home at the end.

Our classes are 2 hours of completely hands-on sushi making at the Earthbeat Centre in Saltburn, where I’ll take you through the whole process step by step — even if you’ve never rolled a piece of sushi in your life.

🍣 You’ll learn how to make:
• Temaki – hand rolls
• Maki – classic sushi rolls
• Uramaki – inside-out rolls
• Hosomaki – smaller traditional rolls
• And then you’ll get the chance to freestyle and create your own

You make all of your sushi yourself, I’ll help you get everything rolled and looking the part, then we cut it all up at the end ready for you to admire your handiwork — and most importantly, take it home and eat it.

No experience needed whatsoever. The classes are relaxed, social and designed for adults, teenagers, families and complete beginners.

👧 Ages 3–13: attend with an adult either watching or helping.
🧑 Ages 14+: can attend independently.

🌱 All dietaries catered for, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options — just let me know when you book.

This is one of my favourite parts of teaching: watching children proudly show off what they’ve created. They chose the fillings, made the rolls and now they get to say, “I did that!” 🍱
