With the groom being a bass guitarist, there was only one thing that could top this wedding cake perfectly - a handcrafted fondant bass guitar and amp! 🎸

I have to admit... this was my very first attempt at creating anything this intricate from fondant, and to say I was terrified would be the understatement of the year! 😅
Every element was carefully sculpted by hand to create a miniature version of the real thing, celebrating one of his greatest passions. One of my favourite touches was the music note, lovingly recreated to match the groom's tattoo - a small detail that made the cake even more meaningful.

With all the cakes I have the privilege of creating, it is the ones that tell a story that stay with me long after they have left my kitchen. 🤍
Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing you a lifetime filled with love, laughter, beautiful memories... and plenty of music.

P.S. If you have noticed that the backgrounds in these photos are blurred... that is entirely intentional.
The reality is that after yet another all-nighter bringing a cake like this to life, styling a picture-perfect backdrop is usually somewhere below "sleep for a week" on my priority list 🥴 By the time I turn on the camera, I have just enough energy left to point it at the cake and hope for the best! 😅

One day I might be brave enough to share the unblurred background in my Stories, just so you can see what the camera is hiding. 🙈😬

Thankfully, the cake is always the star of the show anyway! 😅

This wedding cake gave me the most pride ... and the most stress, all in the same week 🥴😅
It fought me almost every step of the way, but I am so proud of how it turned out. Funny how the cakes that test you the most often end up being your favourites ❤️

Watch this space to see the handmade toppers that took me almost as long to make as the cake itself! 😉 ✨

A quick glance at these photos and you can probably tell this one was made for family 😅
No carefully positioned backdrop with the perfect lighting. Just me standing out on the decking holding the cake because I was in a rush and needed to grab a quick photo before handing it over!

I actually made this cake late at night on the same day as my son's First Holy Communion. (The Communion cake is a story for another day! 😁)

The longer I bake, the more I realise that cakes are so much more than just something sweet to eat. They hold love and emotion, and are often a reflection of how much someone means to us.

This was a small, simple cake, but it was absolutely overflowing with love. It was made for two very special people - our dear friends and our children's godparents.
They are the kind of friends who become family. They have shared so many of life's joys, challenges and milestones with us, and we are blessed to have them in our lives.

Sometimes it is not the biggest or most elaborate cakes that mean the most. Sometimes it is the simple ones, made late at night, for people you love dearly 💜

While motherhood and running a business mean I can no longer devote the time to gardening that I once did, it is exactly why buttercream blooms always have my heart 💐
I may not have as many (or any!) flowers growing from the soil these days, but I still get to enjoy their beauty as they blossom from my fingertips instead. 🧁💕

Created to celebrate a ♦️ Ruby Wedding Anniversary ♦️ this cake featured flowers in the same beautiful shade as the bridesmaids' dresses from their wedding day 40 years ago - a thoughtful detail chosen by her husband to honour those precious memories.

A lovely reminder that after all these years it is often the little things that mean the most 🌹
