The Coffee Shop will be closed next week while the team all have a well deserved recharge.
To say this has been a challenging year is an understatement but we will be back and ready for action from Monday 21st September.

Team appreciation post………. A while ago I posted that I wanted to slowly introduce our team. Well it’s taken some time but now feels like a good time to introduce Sarah and Karen. Without these two lovely ladies I can honestly say I don’t know where the shop would be now.

Hospitality is struggling and the coffee shop falling victim to the cost of living crisis has been no secret but Sarah and Karen come to work with smiles on their faces, positive attitudes and dedication.

Karen works tirelessly running the kitchen and I believe makes the best omelettes around. She caters to special requests and remembers regulars repeat orders even when they have forgotten to mention their special requests themselves. Karen is work mum and quite possibly the most organised member of us all 🙈

Now anyone who has met Sarah knows that this woman is always smiling 😁I often joke that the world could fall apart around her and Sarah will still find something positive to say!! When I interviewed Sarah I had been thinking she would be in the kitchen but it soon became clear she belongs out front with our lovely customers. Despite me buying her a work mug which has ‘little miss whoops’ on it’ I wouldn’t have her any other way!

Well…….Tomorrow we celebrate 9 years at The Coffee Shop (it was actually Monday but we got mixed up)

Yesterday we mourned Dolly Parton and today we mourn a personal favourite of mine, the one and only Tim Curry!

Tomorrow though we must go on and we must celebrate our achievements. Our party playlist covers hits that were number 1 across the years on our anniversary date (with a couple of Dollys thrown in too)
Our early riser and afternoon sweet treats offers will be available from opening at noon until last orders at 6pm.

Come and celebrate with us and wish us well with our new opening times while we build ourselves back up again so we can celebrate each year at The Coffee Shop as it passes.

The town is open for late night shopping too so why not spoil yourselves.

We are having wifi problems at the moment so cannot currently accept card payments. We hope to have this resolved soon.

So in between my visit to The farm cafe at centre paws to pick up the yummy vegan traybake for the shop (and iced latte because why not!) I then popped back to the coffee shop to test out my new syrup……..welcome the honeycomb milkshake! (I’m sure it goes well in coffee and hot chocolate too 🥤☕️.
I then figured I’ve clearly broken my ‘no dairy’ policy today so why not tick another place off my cafe safari trail…….so off I pop to see the lovely Katherine at Mad Hatters Tearoom for an iced (soya) latte and delicious fruit scone although it was hard to choose as she always has such lovely looking cakes.
Other places I have recently been to but forgot to check off are Four seasons at the garden centre and Coffee with Flo. We really do serve some lovely coffee in Wymondham and it’s good to know on my days off I can still get a proper coffee!

While the heatwave continues we will be taking last orders for hot food at 12pm but will still be serving sandwiches and salads until 2pm.

This weeks salad is a yummy prawn and avocado and today’s scone addition is lavender & lemon 🍋

Please stay hydrated during this heatwave and please be patient with us while we take care of ourselves too. It is not easy working in hospitality in extreme heat but we stay open!

We will be open a little later today at 9:30am and hot food will stop at 12pm to limit the heat circulating in the shop. We will be closing at 2:30.
