PLAID UNVEIL CANDIDATE FOR GROSVENOR COUNCIL BY-ELECTION on JUNE 18th
Following the success of Plaid Cymru in the Senedd election, a by-election is being held in Grosvenor ward to replace Cllr Marc Jones.
Plaid Cymru has selected Jon Billington of Walnut Street to stand in the upcoming by-election on Thursday 18th June.
Jon said: “I’ve lived in Rhosddu for 16 years, the past four years I have been a community councillor for the ward.
“I work in Airbus as a team co-ordinator and have done since 1999. I am also our work-based union representative for Unite and have done this role for just over a year now.
“My interests include playing basketball, going to watch Wrexham AFC and I’m also a regular attendee at the Wrexhammer gaming club. I want to make a visible difference in the area with an emphasis on community engagement.”
Marc Jones, who is now a Senedd Member, said: "Many of you will already know Jon for his work with the Rhosddu Fun Day and as a community councillor in the area for the past four years. He'll make an excellent county councillor for this area and I hope you'll support him as you've backed me over the past decade.
"You first elected me as your County Councillor in 2017 and I will always be grateful for your support in doing my best for this area. As a new Senedd Member, I will still be representing the area, just at a different level! You are always welcome to contact me if you ever need my help.
"My new email is [email protected] and Carrie Harper and myself will be opening an office in the town very soon to deal with people’s concerns and issues."
