💙 A Huge Thank You to 💙 Borras Park Primary School

What an incredibly special afternoon for everyone at Wrexham Miners Project.

We were honoured to attend the end-of-term assembly at Borras Park School to receive an amazing cheque for £1,000! 🎉

The Year 6 pupils took on an incredible sponsored walk from Borras Park School to Wrexham Miners Project. Once they arrived, they enjoyed an educational tour, learning about the history of the Rescue Station, the mining industry and why preserving our local heritage is so important. The children were full of enthusiasm, asked fantastic questions and were genuinely excited to discover more before completing the walk back to school.

Their hard work and determination raised an unbelievable £1,000 for Wrexham Miners Project. We are absolutely blown away by their generosity and community spirit.

It was also a real privilege to attend the Year 6 end-of-term assembly. Watching the children reflect on their journey through primary school and seeing how much they have grown over the years was incredibly moving. We left feeling humbled, grateful and inspired by such a wonderful group of young people.

A huge thank you to every pupil who took part, the parents and families who sponsored them, and the fantastic staff at Borras Park School for organising such a brilliant event and choosing to support Wrexham Miners Project.

£1,000 raised… what an incredible achievement! 👏❤️

From everyone at Wrexham Miners Project, thank you. You have helped preserve our local mining heritage for future generations, and you should all be immensely proud of yourselves.

Diolch yn fawr, Borras Park School! ⛏️💙

🇨🇭❤️ We had the pleasure of welcoming Claudia and Anita from Switzerland to the Wrexham Miners Project for a guided tour of our historic Rescue Station.

It was wonderful to share the history of our building, the stories of the miners, and the work our volunteers continue to do to preserve this important part of our heritage.

We were especially touched to receive such a lovely message in our visitors’ book. Comments like these remind us why preserving and sharing our history is so important.

Thank you, Claudia and Anita, for taking the time to visit us during your trip. We hope you enjoyed your experience and that you’ll take a little piece of Wrexham’s mining history back to Switzerland with you.

Safe travels, and we hope to welcome you back again one day! ❤️⛏️
