Hi folks

I hope this finds you and your loved ones well.

This post is to thank you for being part of and contributing to our journey over the last five years.

Following what has been an incredibly difficult and unforeseen six months for everyone, sadly, we have now closed the doors for the last time.

To follow a lifelong ambition to cook great food and see people enjoying it has been amazing. If I could make a little wage and provide a living for people along the way then we smashed it!

I do hope you will remember your visits with a smile on your face. I know I have a bucket load of memories to treasure, each with their own significance.

I will write that book one day and you will all be in it – names will be changed to protect identities but I think it could be a best seller!

Please enjoy the simple things in this complicated world - they are usually the best. And keep smiling - if nothing else, it makes people wonder what you are up to ☺️

Hi

I hope this finds you, your families and loved ones safe and in good health.

As a tiny business, the physical and mental wellbeing of our small team of loyal staff is of the utmost importance to me to ensure their safety and security in their frontline customer-facing working environment. My aim and indeed passion, has always been simply to offer our customers the best possible experience with us as opposed to merely ‘keeping the doors open’.

We are unable to open tomorrow for numerous reasons.

There are continuing risks associated with COVID19. The Government guidance on social distancing and other measures imposed on cafes, unavoidable costs associated with compliance, together with other unforeseen cost increases and the decimation of our garden during the lockdown period have made it unviable, impractical and potentially unsafe to open.

Please keep in touch and as my Dad always said “whatever it is you do, do your best”.

Keep smiling, if nothing else, it will make people wonder what you are up to.

Hi folks

Please could I appeal to you share this?

I know everyone is really concerned about the medical effects of COVID19 but there are also other issues which aren’t mainstream right now but will be very soon.

As an owner of a small family business (homemade food, four staff) it has been extremely challenging to say the least to survive since Brexit. Now with COVID19, it is already affecting us. Many small business will go under and people will lose their livelihoods and their place in local communities.

Quite a number of my customers fall into the high risk categories and not only do we provide a service to them but a hand of friendship and a place to meet and be social.

Could I please appeal to you to continue to support your local “one-person” business, whatever it may provide you with.

We can get through this together can’t we? Please be kind to each other.

* Cheese, potato & onion pie (all butter shortcrust pastry) (v)

* Quiche "Millie" (was Lorraine but as we don't know Lorraine we've renamed it Millie as she helped make it!)

* Nana Alice Potato cake with poached eggs & bacon

* Alice's Bueno Brownies (melt in your mouth scrumptiousness)
