✈️ MEMBERS’ POST – ANNUAL AGM REMINDER ✈️

Just a friendly reminder to all our members that our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is taking place tomorrow evening at 7:00pm.

This is a members-only event, and we very much hope that as many of our members as possible will be able to attend.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of our members for your continued support of the club. Your involvement and willingness to lend a hand make a real difference to our airfield and club.

An extra special thank you goes to everyone who has volunteered their time and skills over the past six months, including:

🔧 Repairing the doors on Hangar 3
🔩 Welding and repairing the damaged railings on the tower
🎨 Painting the tower and the steps into the office
🪑 Painting and refurbishing the benches in our viewing areas
🌱 And, of course, the continued grass cutting and general upkeep of the airfield

There are many jobs, both big and small, that help keep our club looking its best and running safely, and we genuinely appreciate everyone who gets involved.

🚒 A special mention for today’s photo:
Courtesy of Dennis, our spare fire truck was out on standby today while our main fire truck is away for repairs — another job carried out by one of our own members. A great example of the teamwork and dedication within our club.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, volunteer and contribute to our Aero Club. It really is appreciated.

🌟🛵 What a Great Night at Netherthorpe! 🛵🌟

It was fantastic to welcome the Three Counties Scooter Club for their yearly meet at Sheffield Aero Club, Netherthorpe Airfield.

A great evening was had by all, and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces alongside plenty of new ones too. Events like these are always a great opportunity to catch up, share stories, and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere here at the airfield.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made the evening such a success — we hope you all had a brilliant time and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

🔧✈️ Club Update from Netherthorpe ✈️🔧

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in repairing the hangar door on the third hangar.

👏 Thanks to the hard work and dedication of those involved, the door is now operating as it should, helping to keep things running smoothly around the airfield.

🍴 Clubhouse Update: The clubhouse is currently open at weekends only, with a limited menu available. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will keep everyone updated as things progress.

📅 Upcoming Events: Don't forget to keep an eye on our page for details of upcoming events and activities at the airfield. There are some exciting things on the horizon!

☀️🛩️ Bank Holiday Monday at Netherthorpe! 🛩️☀️

We’re pleased to let everyone know that the airfield will be open this Bank Holiday Monday.

✈️ Flying In or Out: Please note that the airfield will be operating unlicensed, and there may not always be someone in the tower, so we kindly ask all pilots to take extra care when arriving or departing.

⛽ Facilities Available: Avgas 100 and toilet facilities will be available throughout the day for visiting pilots and guests.

☕ Café Closed: Please note that the café will be closed for the Bank Holiday Monday.

🌬️ Check Conditions Before You Fly: Our current wind direction and the latest QFE can be found on our website before your flight.

We’ve had the pleasure of welcoming one of the JCB helicopters into Netherthorpe this week—definitely a sight to see!

🛩️ Here at Netherthorpe, it’s not just light aircraft… we also welcome helicopters, adding even more variety to the skies above our airfield.

🌞 With this beautiful weather, have you spotted the Tiger Moth yet? Keep your eyes on the skies—you never know what might fly in next! 🤔
