Over the past 48 hours, we have been completely overwhelmed by the messages, comments and calls we've received from listeners, volunteers, local businesses and members of our community. 💙

So many of you have shared how saddened you are to hear that Crags Radio is set to close, and your incredible support has inspired us to give this one last push.

Today, we are launching Crags Radio – One Last Shot.

We've set ourselves a fundraising target of £3,000. Reaching this would allow us to cover at least the next three months of essential running costs, keeping Crags Radio broadcasting while we work on securing a long-term future.

Although the Crowdfunder will remain open for two weeks, the reality is we need to reach our £3,000 target by Monday 20th July. Without those funds, we will have no choice but to begin dismantling the station and preparing our rented premises to be handed back to the landlord ahead of our tenancy ending on 3rd August.

This is also an all or nothing Crowdfunder. That means we will only receive the funds if we reach our full £3,000 target or go beyond it. If we fall short, we won't receive any of the money raised. Every single donation, no matter how big or small, genuinely brings us one step closer to keeping Crags Radio alive.

Those extra three months would also give us the time we desperately need to:
📻 Complete our application to become a Community Interest Company (CIC), opening the door to new funding opportunities.
☕ Find a long-term solution for our ground-floor café, whether that's selling it as a profitable business or subletting it to another local business.
❤️ Continue serving the community we've proudly supported for the past six years.

This really is our last chance.

Today, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Crags Radio.

Following careful consideration by the Board of Directors, Trustees and Management Team, the difficult decision has been made to cease broadcasting from Monday 20th July 2026.

This has not been an easy decision. Over recent months we have explored every possible avenue to secure the station's future, but despite our best efforts, continuing operations is no longer sustainable.

Since launching, Crags Radio has been driven by the passion and dedication of an incredible team of volunteers. Together, we built more than a radio station—we created a platform that celebrated local people, supported independent artists and businesses, helped charities and community groups, trained new broadcasters, covered local events, and brought people together.

We have been humbled by the support of our listeners, volunteers, sponsors, partners and the wider community. Thanks to you, Crags Radio grew into an award-winning station with over 100,000 monthly listeners—something we are immensely proud of.

To every presenter, producer, volunteer, sponsor, advertiser, supporter and listener—thank you. Every contribution helped shape the story of Crags Radio.

Our final week of broadcasting begins today, with our last scheduled broadcasts taking place before we close on Monday 20th July. We hope you will join us as we celebrate what we have achieved together and give Crags Radio the send-off it deserves.

Although this chapter is ending, we hope the friendships, memories and impact created will continue long into the future.

☕ Important Update from Craggy’s Café ☕

Over the past few weeks, we’ve faced some real challenges with volunteer availability, which has made it increasingly difficult to keep the café running as normal.

For the time being, we will be operating on reduced opening hours while we actively look for new volunteers and explore other possible options for the future of the café.

From next week onwards, our temporary opening days will be:

📅 Thursdays & Fridays
⏰ 9:30am – 1:30pm

Unfortunately, due to having no volunteers available this week, we will not be opening at all.

We want to thank everyone for your continued support, patience and understanding during this uncertain time. Craggy’s has always been about community, and right now we need that community more than ever.

Over the next couple of weeks, Craggy’s Café will be operating on temporary opening hours due to holidays and being a little low on volunteers.

💛 BIG PLANS FOR CRAGGY’S COMMUNITY CAFÉ 💛

After nearly a full year of being open, we’re excited to say… we’re ready for Phase 2 of our journey ☕✨

Over the past year, we’ve listened closely to your feedback, ideas, and support — and one thing has become very clear… to continue growing and progressing as a true community hub, we need to expand what we offer.

That next step means moving into serving HOT FOOD 🍳🥪

We already have exciting ideas for breakfast and lunch items, with hopes to eventually provide food options during our growing range of evening events too. We want Craggy’s to become even more than just a café and music shop — we want it to be a welcoming space for the whole community throughout the day and beyond 🌟

However, as a non-profit community café run with the help of amazing volunteers, this expansion comes with costs. In order to make this happen, we need funding for:

🍴 New kitchen equipment
📦 Initial food stock
📜 Food licenses & certifications
👨‍🍳 Volunteer training
🛠️ General setup costs

To make Phase 2 a reality, we need to raise £1000 — and we can’t do it without the support of our incredible community 💛
