WE ARE MAKING RAMEN THIS SUNDAY!!!! 🍜
Japanese Ramen has always been the thing that we want to make since beginning. But we reckon there hasn't been enough ramen exposure around our area, so we started off working on some asian food last few months.
But now, here we are.
We only serve pork broth at the moment. The broth is simmered for 10 hours to break down the gelatin and fully extract the essence from the bone. The golden yolk eggs are lightly marinated for a night, infusing an extra umami taste in it, while keeping it from being overly salty.
You would be expecting 4 different topping from us:
1. Japanese Chashu
This rolled pork belly slices are the most typical and traditional way of serving Japanese Ramen. The chashu is sous-vide for 24 hours, making sure it's perfectly done and keeping its juiciness.
2. Thick Cut Tonkatsu
Panko breaded pork shoulder is quickly deep fried to ensure a very crispy outer side, while maintaining a juicy and tender meat inside.
3. Unagi
Unagi means Japanese eel. Unagi is normally used in sushi, temaki wrap and don etc... We introduce this to our ramen and they matched each other unexpectedly! Unagi is prepared with a sweet special sauce (something similar to teriyaki, but slightly sweeter and thicker).
4. Steak
Our chef is ribeye lover. Sorry to all the sirloin, rump or fillet enthusiasts out there, ribeye for the win this time! Dry aged steak from Pioneer is chosen, medium rare and slightly salted and peppered.
We are operating normally as below:
Date: 16 July
Time: 12pm-3pm
Location: Catch Fish and Chips, Workington
This ramen session is only exclusive for this Sunday. This is also probably also our only ramen session. Don't miss it, as this would probably be the only chance to get some good Japanese Ramen around this area.
Oh ya, since the broth takes more than 24 hours to prepare, we can't just serve you some MSG soup packet when we ran out off real broth that day. Just in case, we would really really appreciate that you make table reservation, so we can get a vague number and prepare the broth accordingly. Thanks a lot!! 🙏
Hope to see you on Sunday.
