Tuesday 1st September we will be closed I’m afraid. We have new staff joining but we unfortunately do not have staff to open tomorrow 🫣 i also need to bake like a maniac as we are running out of treats.

See you Wednesday (hope for sunshine).

Well, finally there is rain 🙌🏻, quite a lot of the wet stuff actually.

So, we have decided that we won’t open today because, let’s be honest, you’re not coming out for a bacon butty in this are you?

Online ordering has also been turned off today. Think we might have to join Deliveroo or similar over the winter so for days like this we can reach a larger audience for getting your favourites delivered to your home or work.

We are looking for your help to source great eggs locally. We currently use a wholesaler and have fresh, free range eggs and they are fine but we don’t think they are as good as they could be. Do you know a local Worcestershire egg supplier, who can deliver, that produce really rich tasty eggs?

Please tag them below or send us a link/email/contact. Personal recommendations only - eggs you’ve tried and you know are the best.

From September we will be opening Wednesday to Sunday and the game playing against the weather begins - we all know the rain will be back.

So, it’s that time of year when we lose a lot of our team as they head off for university in September 🫣 this year it’s 4 of the team.

We require 2 members of staff Wednesday to Sunday covered. So, we would like ideally 2 full time Wednesday to Sunday team members. 8:30am till 4:30pm. This would be a year round position. However, we could break the roles down to 2 x Wednesday to Friday and then 2 x weekend staff.

The role consists of working all 3 sections within our cafe on a boat in a rotational system. Barista & drinks, food cooked on a griddle/flat plate primarily and till operation. Therefore some experience within one of the sections would be ideal. Training can be provided. You’ll need to be confident, quick learner, ability to multi task and be customer focused.

If you have applied before please feel free to apply again if you can do the hours and think you could be great on our little team. Email your cv to [email protected] or message via social media. We are very busy so cannot reply to everyone.

Thanks to all the lovely peeps who popped by to see us at Diglis fields today for an ‘on land’ community event. We were serving our homemade cookies (rave reviews) and our classic bacon and/or sausage baps today. We ran out and had to call the boat team for extra supplies of sausages!

We’ve had some late nights as we both have other jobs/businesses and had to bake and prep for catering and today’s lovely event. It’s now sleepy time before a mini catering booking and regular service on the quayside tomorrow.

Thank goodness we like to be busy.

See you all soon and thank you for supporting independent businesses- we love you 🥰

We will be pitching up and doing our bacon and sausage baps plus dozens of our homemade cookies that you all love….big baking day ahead!
Plus, cafe afloat will be open as usual for all your favourites 🥰

We went for a little bimble out today to Stoke Bruerne, Northamptonshire to see a fellow boat cafe…with a difference. Daisy's Bakin Butty The Floating Cafe is a roaming cafe that is a butty boat (no engine) and towed along the canal network by their own boat. Daisy & Lloyd are a fabulous and very funny couple. We wanted to stop by for a chat, a drink and a bite to eat as we have followed them on facebook for a while…ended up staying two and a half hours!

Great independent business run by great people. Go show them some love, or even better go for a drive out and visit (just check where they are moored first).
