In partnership with Play Worcester, and funded by the National Lottery Awards for All England, Severn Arts is commissioning an artist or arts organisation to work with communities outside of the city centre to co-create a new outdoor resource that encourages children and families to play outside.

👉 Commission fee: £10,000

Rowing coach needed at King's Worcester

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Lead Rowing Coach to join our outstanding rowing programme for the 2026-27 academic year.

Based at our stunning Michael Baker Boathouse on the River Severn, you’ll help lead one of the UK’s top school rowing programmes, working with enthusiastic and talented rowers from Year 9 to Sixth Form. With a proud rowing tradition dating back to 1877, King’s Worcester has produced Olympians and national champions.

We’re proud to be recognised by The Good Schools Guide as one of the top eight schools in the UK for rowing.

This position is fixed term for the 2026-27 academic year, commencing September 2026, 14 hours per week, term time only. The hours will vary during seasons and on a weekly basis. There is also a requirement to attend regattas/heads, Easter training camps and other events at additional times.

Annual drumhead parade today

As part of this year's commemorative events we will be holding our Annual Drumhead Parade on the 3rd of September to mark the anniversary itself. The parade will culminate in a service atop Fort Royal hill, the site of the Royalists last stand during the battle. Be sure not to miss out on what is always an impressive and poignant event!
