🥵 It’s already feeling like an oven in our kitchen… and it’s only 9:30am!

To look after our amazing kitchen team during this heat, we’ll be turning our main ovens off from 12pm today, just as we’ve done over the last couple of days. That means we’ll be running a slightly reduced menu this afternoon.

But don’t worry… Karen has made sure there’s still plenty of delicious food to enjoy! 🙌

🧀 It’s the perfect excuse to try our delicious Ploughman’s Platter, made with our own home-reared ham, local cheese and all the classic accompaniments.

🥩 Fresh from our farm… and only here while stocks last! 🥩

Our own Wagyu burgers and steaks have just arrived in the Farm Café this weekend… but be quick, because once they’re gone, they’re gone! 👀

What makes our beef different?

🐄 Our cattle are slowly reared for around 2½ years on a natural, forage-based diet, giving the beef time to develop incredible flavour.

🥩 We then traditionally dry-age (hang) the beef for four weeks, helping create beautifully tender cuts with rich, concentrated flavour.

Many supermarket cattle are typically processed at a much younger age, and much of the beef is vacuum-packed for ageing rather than traditionally hung, which creates a different end result.

If you’ve never tried our home-reared Wagyu before, this weekend is the perfect excuse. Pop into the Farm Café in Lower Wick, grab a burger or a steak to take home, and taste the difference that time, care and traditional butchery can make. ❤️

🥵 Hot Weather Update ☀️

As the thermometer has climbed well over 30°C, our amazing kitchen team are really feeling the heat today.

To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, we’ll be switching our main ovens and larger kitchen equipment off from 12pm today.

That means this afternoon we’ll still be serving:
🥪 Toasties
🥪 Paninis
🥪 Baps
🥗 Salads
🍰 Cakes
🍦 Ice cream
🍨 Milkshakes
🥤 Cold drinks
☕ Barista coffee
🍹 Pimms, beers, ciders and wines

Unfortunately, anything that requires our main ovens or pizza oven won’t be available after 12pm today.

We’re expecting similar temperatures tomorrow, and possibly on Saturday too. We’ll make a decision each morning based on how hot the kitchen is and keep you updated here.

Thanks so much for your understanding. We know it’s disappointing if you’ve got your heart set on a particular dish, but looking after our hardworking team has to come first on days like these. ❤️

☀️ What a weekend at Bennetts Willow Barn!

Yesterday was a scorcher… and there aren’t many hotter jobs than serving a hog roast in the middle of it! 🔥🐖

We were hosting a joint 40th & 50th birthday party for my lovely friend Frankie and her buddy Sam, which made the day even more special. Once the hog roast was served and everything was cleared away, I finally got to swap work for a pint and enjoy the party with everyone else! 🍻

A huge thank you to Frankie & Sam for letting us be part of such a brilliant celebration. The kids had an amazing afternoon thanks to DWAEC Ltd and the evening music in the barn was fantastic!

Back in the café, we also launched our brand new homemade raspberry lemonade… and wow! 🍋🍓 I genuinely didn’t think anything could beat our original homemade lemonade, but Karen has absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one. If you’re visiting us this week, you have to give it a try! ☀️

It’s our 5th birthday! 5 years ago today, we unlocked the doors to Bennetts Willow Barn for the very first time.

Back then, we thought we were opening a farm café and wedding venue.

Little did we know where that decision would lead us…

Over the last five years we’ve launched Bonfire Night, created our Pumpkin Patch, planted our dahlia patch, welcomed the incredible Battle of Worcester, started making our own ice cream, opened the farm for tours and school visits, and celebrated hundreds of beautiful weddings.

Most importantly, we’ve welcomed hundreds of thousands of you through our gates.

Every time you’ve popped in for breakfast, met friends over coffee, celebrated a special occasion, brought your children to an event or simply stopped by for an ice cream, you’ve become part of our story.

To everyone who has visited us over the last five years—thank you 💖
