Right, confession time: National Cheese Pizza Day is technically an American celebration, and if we're being pedantic, National Pizza Day here in the UK isn't until February. But you know what? Cheese doesn't care about borders. Cheese is a uniter, not a divider. So we're stretching the rules, because a good excuse for pizza is a good excuse for pizza, wherever it started. 🍕

There's something properly comforting about a pizza that keeps things simple, just a bubbling, golden layer of melted cheese, a bit of that crispy-charred crust, and nothing to distract you from the main event. No fuss, no gimmicks, just cheese doing what cheese does best.

🎨 This week's watercolour has us properly daydreaming: a trattoria with its shutters thrown open, a little table right at the water's edge, and a view that goes on forever. No cars, no rush, just the sea and something good on the table.

That's the feeling we've tried to bottle into our lunchtime menu. Our Fixed-Price Lunch Menu is yours to savour from Monday to Sunday, last orders 4pm, built for exactly this kind of unhurried midday escape. Start with rustic ciabatta topped with a velvety cream and mushroom medley, or deep-fried risotto balls with a heart of rich tomato sauce and molten mozzarella. Move on to chicken breast cooked in a creamy mushroom, tomato, lemon and herb sauce, served with salad, or something equally comforting from the pasta side.

It's Friday. You've made it 🍷. Five days of emails, deadlines and someone eating your lunch from the office fridge, and now it's time to sit down, breathe, and let someone else do the cooking. 🍝

And happy National Red Wine Day, by the way. Perfect timing, really, because we've just seen some research doing the rounds claiming the younger crowd have gone off red wine altogether. Gen Z and Millennials just aren't bothered anymore, apparently.

Except... that's not quite what's actually happening. Turns out younger drinkers aren't ditching wine, they're just getting pickier. Fewer glasses, better bottles. Which, if we're honest, is exactly how we'd want anyone to drink our wine list. 🍷

So here's the real question for a Friday night: are you Team "a proper glass of red with your pasta" or Team "I'll stick to water and let my mate have the wine"? No judgement either way, we've got a seat and a menu for both.

Some watercolours are all drama. This one isn't: a quiet little trattoria overlooking the sea, one table set outside, nobody rushing anyone along. It's the sort of scene that doesn't need a big event to justify it, and that's exactly what reminded us of our lunch menu.

Our Fixed-Price Lunch Menu is available Monday to Sunday with last orders at 4pm, built for exactly that kind of unhurried, no-occasion-needed lunch. Try the Penne Amatriciana, tubes of pasta cooked with fresh tomato, Italian bacon, herbs, chilli garlic, and Parmesan cheese, or the Tortellini con Funghi if you fancy something a little richer with cream, wine and DOP tomato.

The rain's had its fun, now it's the sun's turn. ☀️

After a couple of grey, drizzly days, Worcester's about to get a proper treat: 19-20 degrees and clear skies for the next few days, with most of the rain sticking to the evenings (so no soggy dinners here!). Our chef's been in the kitchen since this morning, hands deep in fresh pasta dough, sauces bubbling away, plating up dishes that genuinely make people stop mid-bite to take a photo. 🍝

We cook, you enjoy. That's the whole philosophy, really.

And with the sunshine sticking around, our al fresco tables on Broad St are calling your name. Some things never need improving, they just need a good rival. 🍮

Our classic tiramisu has been a firm favourite since day one, layers of coffee-soaked sponge, mascarpone, and a dusting of cocoa that hits every single time. But lately, a new contender has been quietly stealing hearts on the side, our pistachio tiramisu, and honestly, it's starting to build quite the following.

Creamy, nutty, a little bit different, and just as indulgent in its own way. We're not asking you to choose sides (though Freddo definitely has an opinion), just come and try both if you can. That's the beauty of Friday night, no rules, just good food and good company. 🍝🍷

Right, Worcester, we need to settle something once and for all. 🍅

Are you Team Tomatoey or Team Creamy? Because today, we're firmly on the tomato side of the fence, with a rich, slow-cooked tomato pasta that's the kind of dish you think about for days afterwards. Bold, tangy, proper Italian comfort in a bowl.

We know it's a divisive topic in this restaurant (Freddo has strong opinions, let's just say that), but we reckon once you've tried this one, you'll understand why tomato sauce has been winning hearts in Italy for centuries. Fresh, simple, packed with flavour, and worth the journey on its own.
