⚓️ A HUGE THANK YOU FROM ALL OF US AT THE ANCHOR ❤️
As summer starts to draw to a close, we just wanted to say a massive thank you to every single customer who has visited and supported The Anchor this summer.
Whether you’ve joined us for breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday lunch, a few drinks by the water or one of our events — we genuinely couldn’t do what we do without you.
And a huge thank you to our amazing team. It’s been an incredibly busy summer and they’ve worked their socks off. ❤️
🦪🦞 OUR SEAFOOD FESTIVALS
Our first two Seafood Festivals have been a fantastic success, with over 300 freshly plated meals served at each festival.
We’re especially proud that the seafood has come from UK waters, working with independent fishermen and family-run fishing businesses wherever possible.
To everyone who came along, ate, drank and supported the events — a genuine thank you.
They’ll definitely be back next year, with a few tweaks and hopefully a fantastic new addition to The Yard… 🔥
We’re hoping to introduce an outdoor wood-fired chargrill, bringing the cooking right out amongst you so you can watch the lads preparing and grilling some incredible British seafood over the fire.
Fresh seafood. Flames. Smoke. Straight from the grill to your plate. 🐟🔥
☀️ BUT SUMMER ISN’T OVER YET!
There’s still time to enjoy The Anchor outside, so make the most of these last few weeks of summer before the weather starts to change.
And looking ahead to next year, we’re really hoping to see our tables and chairs back alongside the canal.
Unfortunately, following complaints from just a couple of people, we lost something that we felt was enjoyed responsibly by hundreds of customers and was a real asset to the waterside and the wider community.
We haven’t given up.
There have been plenty of meetings, phone calls and lots of emails since January, we’ll keep working with everyone involved in the hope that next summer those tables can return — giving people somewhere to sit, meet friends, eat, drink and simply enjoy our wonderful canalside again. ⚓️❤️
🍂 THEN IT’S TIME TO GET COSY…
As the weather changes, so does The Anchor.
We’ll be moving back inside to a warm, cosy pub and restaurant, with the log fires burning and a fantastic new autumn & winter menu coming from the kitchen.
We’ll also be introducing our new 2-course set menu for £23.95 alongside pub classics, seasonal dishes and some proper winter comfort food.
🎄 And then, of course, there’s Christmas!
We’re already looking ahead to Christmas parties, festive get-togethers and Christmas Day, with bookings and enquiries coming in.
