Shawarma update!

A special sandwich deserves a special bread! Super excited to give our Chicken kebab a glow up and introduce a new supplier into our offer.

ABUNOOR FOODS/Bread Specialist create a range of authentic Middle Eastern breads from their small bakery in Bristol. We are now using their delicious Iraqi style laffa wraps for this sandwich. Cooked in a tandoor they sit somewhere between a wrap and naan bread and have a delicious smoky flavour and a chewy satisfying texfure.

Combine them with our marinated and griddled shwarma chicken, a preserved lemon & sesame slaw, yoghurt spiked with our own spicy green chilli shatta and house pink onions and you get one serious sandwich. Available all summer long

After countless cakes, mountains of pastry, and enough stories to fill several books (most of which probably can’t be repeated on Instagram 😄), it’s time for Hazel to hang up her golden rolling pin.

Hazel has been with us since the very beginning, helping build The Porthole one cake at a time. She’s now retiring to spend more time with her family, dancing and knitting jumpers for all of The Porthole babies!!

The sun is out and the Braunton asparagus season is here!
Seasonal change up for the feast boxes with a new punchy, green salsa verde and a really special slaw finished with salty/sweet/crunchy/spicy cashew nut mix that we can’t stop eating.

We've always taken cash and we always will but sourcing change is becoming increasing difficult for us. Our bank no longer offers a change giving so we're calling on you lovely people to help!

If you have a money tin hanging about or you've being collecting those coins and want to change them up then feel free to bring them to the Porthole to change them into notes. We'd very much appreciate it!
