Well, what a first month!
I would like to thank all of you for your support in my first month in The Mall. We have had quite a few challenges to face, but your patience and understanding has been really appreciated.
As you will have seen, the outside of the pub is having a facelift, with the scaffolding due to come down next week.
We also have some exciting plans being drawn up for the next few months.
Christmas is fast approaching, and we now have our festive menu's in for you to look at, as well as a new Winter menu launching on November 11th.
We look forward to welcoming you in again soon!

Rory takes the keys to the refurbished Cross Keys pub in Nottingham! 🗝️

Our new Management Partner Rory Calladine has taken the reins at the popular city centre pub following a £100,000 investment.

🗨️"I was instantly drawn to the pub and as soon I discovered it was available in a partnership with Punch, I jumped at the chance." 🍍

Regular guests at The Cross Keys will instantly notice the pub’s traditional feel and special characteristics have been retained throughout but that a complete refresh has taken place. 💫

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Paul, the new landlord at The Mall. I took over on the 1st September. Those of you who have already visited will have seen some changes, including a new menu.
The welcome I have received from the staff and customers has been great.
Please bear with us over the coming weeks, as the staff get used to my way of working.

We have reopened the Keyworth Tavern following a quarter-of-a-million refurbishment 🔥

The Keyworth pub in Nottingham, run by our Management Partner John Francis, had been closed for 5 weeks while we tore out the bar, stripped the pub back and replaced everything with new, modern furnishings. 🤩

Great work by everyone involved in the transformation 🥂

Tonight will see the last pints pulled by our magnificent son, Tealin.

He joined the staff, after being dragged here with the rest of our children almost ten years ago, as a pot washer but soon found his forte was out front, serving and “entertaining” customers. 🎭

His tall slim bearded stature makes him hard to miss and if Newcastle United are on the telly he would be quite vocal.

Over the last couple of years he has stepped up to the plate to run the day to day operations and we couldn’t be more proud of him.

Some may not understand his comedy or disagree with his choice of football team but his is a phenomenal host and we hope you will pop in to bid him farewell 👋

Newly married couple Gareth and Jamie Furness have take the over The Bay Horse Inn in Pickering. 🔔

The pub has received a £400,000 investment and Gareth says it has been very well received by locals. 😃

“We are seeing more locals returning to the pub, faces that haven't been seen here for many years and we are seeing them on a regular basis... The refurb has really put The Bay Horse Inn back on the map and firmly at the heart of the Pickering community.” ❤️

✨ The End of an Era ✨

Nearly ten years ago, we began our guardianship of The Mall in Woodhall Spa, with our young family by our side. We watched the kids grow from pot washers to front‑of‑house megastars and running a busy kitchen. 👨‍🍳

We’ve met customers who became friends, and remember those who are no longer with us. ❤️

Over the years, we’ve welcomed celebrities, hosted unforgettable events, and raised thousands for charities that mean so much. 🌟🎗️

We’ve endured floods, battled through the devastation of Covid, survived Eat Out to Help Out (IYKYK 😅), continued to host a music festival when the 1940s weekend was cancelled, created a Christmas Market when Woodhall Spa cancelled theirs, and even built a skating rink! ❄️⛸️

In recent years, Trevor’s health has meant we have had more of a background role, and Tealin’s bearded face has been the one greeting you at the door. 🧔 But now, it’s time for our next chapter.

From September 1st, The Mall will welcome Paul Kirby to the helm. Please give him your support as he begins his own journey. 🙌
