In Memory of our pub doggo and head of pub dog walks- Elektra “Stinky the Basset Hound” 🐾🌈❤️
On Friday 7th August, our beautiful basset hound Elektra — affectionately known to everyone as Stinky — suddenly became very unwell in the early hours of the morning.
Everything happened incredibly quickly. She needed emergency veterinary treatment and was taken in for an urgent operation in the hope that we could get our girl better and bring her home.
Sadly, that wasn’t to be.
Despite making it through her operation, Stinky suffered a heart attack while in recovery and tragically passed away.
We are absolutely heartbroken. Anyone who has ever loved a dog will know that they are never “just a pet”. They are part of the family, part of your everyday life, and they leave an enormous space behind when they go. Stinky was full of character, incredibly loved and, in true basset hound style, completely unforgettable.
The speed at which everything happened meant there was no time to prepare — emotionally or financially. We are therefore raising money to help towards the cost of Stinky’s emergency operation, veterinary treatment and cremation.
Any money raised above these costs will be donated to the Basset Rescue Network of Great Britain, helping other beautiful bassets who need care, support and the chance of a loving home.
It feels like a fitting way for something positive to come from such a heartbreaking loss and for Stinky’s memory to help other dogs just like her.
There is absolutely no pressure to donate, but if you are able to give anything at all, however small, we would be incredibly grateful. Sharing this page would mean just as much to us.
