Autumn is all but here - and we have three magical Birding Adventures for you to get involved with. After a welcoming cuppa' and a briefing from our fabulous guides.... you will spend the morning strolling our beautiful Suffolk countryside. Later it's back to Froize for a scrumptious two course lunch and a re-cap on all the wonderous things you have seen and heard earlier. These adventures really are superb - come and enjoy! For those of you who just love a Froize Sunday lunch (and for anyone yet to experience the joy!) This Sunday is your last chance to book a table before all my lovely staff have a summer holiday! - We are back in the kitchen for lunch from 4th September. We have a few tables left at 12 noon this Sunday so give us a ring or send an email. There will be local roast beef and pork, chalk-stream trout, venison, rabbit, lamb shanks, something veggie, something vegan, and.... there is our range of scrummy puddings too!

Folk at the Froize is returning on 4th September when we are delighted to welcome back one of our dearest musician (and foraging!) friends Sam Kelly alongside the incredible Monique Clare. What an evening this promises to be. Tickets on sale now on the Froize web site.

We would love to hear what you would like from Froize..... Autumn evenings should see the return of our classic Curry Nights - Pudding Club Nights - Secret Supper Club - perhaps some new ideas? - A celebration of Game or a Suffolk themed evening. Then, as we head towards the Festive Season... perhaps a feasting menu for friends and families to get together. Please let us know what you would like to see. With the possibility of rain (seeing is believing!) and for those not going to Latitude Festival..... How about a Froize Sunday lunch?? Local beef, pork, venison, rabbit, chicken, chalk-stream trout, plenty for vegetarians and others.... AND it is the season for our Summer Puddings with High House Fruit Farm cherries snuggled in with raspberries, loganberries, red and blackcurrants, plus we have ventured up the 'Murder Tree' collecting mulberries - turning them into the most delicious Bombe!! - To book a table just ring me on 01394 450282 or email to [email protected]

Birdwatching is cool now
- it's official!

We've been noticing the trend this summer...more youngsters are discovering the beauty of birds, and the benefits of getting closer to nature. In fact, earlier this summer, the RSPB estimated that 750,000 people aged 16-29 are regular birders, ten times the number it was 8 years ago.

This is good news for our precious wildlife, and the really good news is that our next Froize Guided Wildlife Walk is hastily approaching on 18th July.
Why not bring a younger family member with you and share the experience together?

What is a wildlife walk?

Not been to one before? ... not a problem! Our walks are suitable for people of all ages and experience levels, and in fact this creates a wonderful opportunity for sharing knowledge and wisdom and inspiring this next generation of experts, because our future is very much in their hands!

We gather at 8.30am with a nice cuppa in hand, before setting off for the wetlands of the Suffolk countryside.

Our wise old owls will be focusing this month on the wonders of 'Waders and Other Mudlarkers', so why not come with us, get stuck in (so to speak)...and then tuck in to a fantastic two course lunch on your return?

We've been telling our friends about it for years and finally got a few of them over today. They came away feeling just as we always do; nourished and well fed, and very well looked after by David and his team.
We filled our boots on glorious Suffolk pork with perfect crackling, blushing pink Suffolk beet, devilled kidneys, venison, mushroom and ale pie, duck in orange, and a superlative tender braised rabbit in prunes and c***r.
Loading our plates with yorkies, fresh veg and sticky, burnished roasties.
All followed by warm sunken chocolate pud, the booziest trifle (hic), caramel cheesecake, warm lemon pud with lemon curd ice cream, and marmalade bread and butter pudding.
Such a treat. Please please please seek it out if you haven't been before.
It's a proper Suffolk treasure. Bookings recommended as it's incredibly popular. Serving lunchtimes Friday-Sunday.
We will definitely have to take back the pals who couldn't make it this time (and the others from today really won't take much convincing!).
