❤️ WITH THE SIX-WEEK SUMMER HOLIDAYS FAST APPROACHING… I’VE BEEN DOING A LOT OF THINKING. ❤️
As many of you know, I wear my heart on my sleeve.
Whilst so many children will be enjoying days out, making memories and having fun, I know that for some families, the extra food bill over the six-week holidays can be overwhelming.
That breaks my heart.
I can’t help everyone, but I’ll always try my very best to help anyone I can. I can’t change the world, but I can try to make a little difference in our community.
❤️ So this year… we go again.
For the last five years, I’ve been fortunate enough to help families through the six-week holidays by providing food and support to those who needed it most.
Last year alone, so many families came to me. Together, as a community, we made a real difference, and seeing the kindness, generosity and support from everyone reminded me exactly why I love being part of The Ash Family.
So this summer… we’re doing it all again.
🍎 Introducing The Ash Summer Food Board
I’ll be buying food myself to get us started because I truly believe that when one person starts something good, an amazing community can help it grow.
If you’d like to help, I’d be so grateful.
It doesn’t have to be anything big…

❤️ SUPPORT LOCAL WHILE SUPPORTING LOCAL FAMILIES ❤️
This isn’t just about filling cupboards.
It’s also about supporting the amazing businesses on our precinct.
You can buy food from the deli, the café, the butchers, the fruit & veg shop, or even treat a family to a meal from the chip shop. That way, we’re not only helping families who need support, we’re also helping keep money going through our local businesses too.
Please remember to ask for your receipt and bring it to me with your donation.
The receipt needs to come back to The Ash with the donation, as it helps me keep everything organised for The Ash Food Board. If a receipt can’t be provided, please don’t complete the purchase. This project relies on everything being clear and accountable.
I’m trying to support our local shops as well as our local families. It’s about neighbours helping neighbours and businesses supporting the community they serve.
If shopping isn’t for you, there will also be a donation pot on the front of the bar. Every single penny donated will go directly towards buying food and activities for local children and families throughout the summer holidays.
❤️ No forms.
❤️ No judgement.
❤️ No embarrassment.
Just a community looking after each other.
If you find yourself needing a little help this summer, please send me a private message or come and see me. Everything will be treated with complete confidence and respect.
And if you’re in a position to help, whether it’s 50p in the donation pot, a loaf of bread, a colouring book, a family game or a bag of shopping, please know that every single act of kindness matters.
I’ve always said…
The Ash isn’t just a pub.
It’s a place where strangers become friends, friends become family, and when one of us needs a helping hand… we all pull together.
❤️ If you can help, thank you.
❤️ If you need help, please ask.
❤️ If you can’t do either, please share this post.
Let’s make this summer one to remember for all the right reasons.
Because that’s the Ash way. ❤️
