Well… this is going to be a strange one to write.
This Wednesday is my final day at The Castle Inn, which also means it will be MY FINAL CASTLE CLUB. ❤️
Castle Club is something I introduced during my time here, and for my last one I wanted to do something a little bit ridiculous.
So forget having a quiet final Wednesday…

For my final Castle Club, I’m putting up a stay in my own private caravan at Haven Marton Mere as the BIG prize.
And anyone who knows our caravan knows this isn’t exactly basic accommodation either. 😂

This isn’t just another Wednesday for me.
Castle Club was something I brought into The Castle, and I’ve watched it grow into something that became part of our week.
Seeing people coming through those doors, sitting together, having their dinner, playing bingo, having a drink, enjoying the entertainment and simply having a laugh together is exactly what I wanted Castle Club to be.
I don’t know what the future holds for Castle Club once we’ve left, so I’m not going to call this THE final Castle Club.
But there is one thing I can say for certain…

WE’RE DOING IT PROPERLY.
Wednesday is also my final day at The Castle Inn, so I’d absolutely love to see as many of the familiar faces who have been part of our journey here as possible.

One final Wednesday.
One final Castle Club for me.
One massive afternoon together.
And somewhere in that pub will be somebody who came in expecting a carvery, a few games of bingo and a bit of Elvis…
…and leaves having WON A BLOODY HOLIDAY. 😂🏖️🧳
But before we finish this post, there’s something much more important that both of us want to say.
From both of us, Chris and Jamie-Leigh, we just want to say a massive and genuinely heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who has supported us during our time at The Castle. ❤️
This place has become so much more to us than simply a pub that we manage.
We’ve made friendships here. We’ve shared some incredible memories. We’ve had more laughs than we could ever count, and we’ve met people that we know we will never forget.
The support, kindness and love that you’ve shown both of us has meant more than we could ever properly put into words.
Whether you’ve been here every week, supported our events, joined us for Castle Club, come in for a meal, watched the football with us, had a pint at the bar, sung terribly at karaoke 😂, stopped for a chat or simply wished us well…
You’ve all played a part in our time here.
And we genuinely love you all. ❤️
Walking away from The Castle and from the people who have become such a huge part of our lives is going to be incredibly difficult.
So although Wednesday is going to be a celebration, and we’re going to make sure we have one hell of a final Castle Club together, it’s also our opportunity to say thank you and goodbye properly.
From the bottom of our hearts…

Thank you for supporting us.
Thank you for all the laughs.
Thank you for all the memories.
And most importantly, thank you for making our time at The Castle something that we will always remember. ❤️
Whatever happens next and wherever life takes us, there are memories and friendships from this place that we’ll take with us forever.
