If youโve been seeing these weekly posts and thinking I keep meaning to comeโฆif youโre seeing this on Monday morning, youโve got time to put a quick comb or brush through your hair, your cosy clothes & come for a cup of something, which this week due to an amazing few days of fundraising, your juice, cup of tea or coffee is on us.
This past year has shown me more reasons why itโs important to take time to talk and listen to others & share experiences...
There can be plenty of people around you. You can have messages, phone calls, offers of help ... but still feel stuck.
Sometimes you just need to get out of the house and share thoughts out loud rather than to yourself.
When youโve lived or living through something intense whether it be caring for someone, a change in the people dynamic in your home, bringing up children, a job which requires a lot of focus, having a loved one go through an illness or trauma or diagnosed with a life long condition it can have a huge impact on our minds and how we see the world.
There is often a change in your own life to adapt to the circumstances around you which you feel you have no control over.
What you have experienced is grief & loss without maybe realising it, which takes everyone different times to process and itโs important to acknowledge and accept itโs ok to feel different emotions.
Not everyone is ready to talk immediately, however what I can tell you from my experiences is that always getting out is good for the soul.
Thereโs a power in human connection.
Feeling welcome, a cup of tea/coffee, shared conversations where we can if we want to explain how we feel, or simply listen and realise owe are mot alone, our feelings are valid.
Just those words โIโm with youโ or an understanding where someone just โgets itโ can mean the world.
Sometimes hearing someone say, "I understand," because they have truly lived it, can make all the difference.
That's the reason these sessions were started and why Iโm putting this time into being available to host /run them.
A shared cup of something where people can have a chat, support each other and know they don't have to carry their feelings and thoughts alone.
My vision has been and is simply to create a safe, understanding space for people to share, build connection and bring your inner confidence to where you feel youโre happy with it.
