We are very sad to hear of the passing of Des Cross, AKA Master Butcher. He was such a calm and admirable man who would do anything for anyone. Always giving my ferrals sweets. He loved standing at the end of the bar with a pint and cheeky smoke with his Son Andy - who would like any one that knew him to join them at the Elm Tree on Saturday from 4pm onwards. Sleep in peace, Des. Thinking of Andy and his grandchildren at this hard time. 🖤💫

Its with a heavy heart to say today we're not opening today. It's been a tough week for a lot of people. So this is what had been going on during lockdown Andy, Bridget, Bob and Jed worked so hard, and was a great help to which I will always be eternally grateful ❤. I was their when I could be (work permitting) paint brush or shovel in hand.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank every single firefighter that was there to put the fire out. Thank you to you all. The main thing is no one was hurt.

I had my lovely bar for 12 hours. I'm gutted everyone couldn't have enjoyed it. Much love everyone. Take care and stay safe. Jo and the kids ###

So turns out the pint glasses that we all know you have in your cupboards, might I add that you 'borrowed' can come in handy now, sit back pour yourself a beer and you can all pretend your at the pub.......😂 happy easter to all our customers, friends and family. So last night in last 47 years as a family run pub we shut our doors for the forseeable, it seemed very odd and a few teary eyes as we all said goodbye to each other. But we will utilise this time to try and do jobs that need doing, that always get left. We want all customers, friends and family to stay well and healthy whilst all this is going on. So this lovely couple got married on the 23rd August and are having a party on the 21st September. They would love everyone they know too come down if you can make it and celebrate with them. From 3pm onwards with 2 live bands and a Buffet. 🥰🎉💍
