Our emergency board meeting... with the best office view in town! 🌊❤️

After everything that's happened with the factory over the past few days, I called an urgent team meeting this morning.

No boardroom. No fancy office. Just four women, a picnic bench overlooking the sea, croissants (thanks Babs 🥐), drinks (thanks Jodie 🧃), plenty of notebooks... and a determination that we're going to get through this together.

I honestly can't tell you how lucky I feel to have this team. ❤️

We talked through the challenges, the options, and most importantly... the opportunities.

Whilst production is paused and we're working through the factory issues, we've agreed our focus has to be on making the shop as successful as possible. That means putting all our energy into the things we can offer right now – our Picky Boxes, Ploughman's Lunches, Pie Bar, deli counter, grazing boxes and everything else you've all been enjoying. We do still have a limited stock of pies available, but once they're gone we'll update everyone on the next steps for production.

By the end of the meeting, everyone was buzzing with ideas. I walked away feeling lighter than I have in days.

Sometimes you don't need all the answers... you just need the right people around the table.
Thank you to Babs, Ness and Jodie for your positivity, honesty and determination. You reminded me today that we're not facing this alone. 💛

Tomorrow I'll be doing a video to share some of the ideas we've come up with, and I'd also love to hear your thoughts too. This business has always been built with the support of our amazing community, and together we'll get through this.

Well... this definitely wasn't the update I was hoping to be sharing. 💔

If you've watched the video, you'll know that we've hit a huge setback with our new factory.

The extraction engineers came to complete the installation, only to uncover serious structural issues with the roof that nobody knew were there. Unfortunately, it means the work can't continue until the building is made safe.

As you can imagine, this has had a knock-on effect. We've had to pause plans, we've lost production opportunities and contracts, and the dream we've been working so hard towards has suddenly been put on hold
The hardest part? Our little farm shop is now carrying the weight of both businesses while we work out what happens next.

I'll be honest... it's scary.

But if there's one thing I've learnt over the last few years, it's that giving up has never been an option.
So instead of sitting still, we're going to do what we do best - get creative.

Over the coming weeks you'll probably see new offers, exciting meal ideas, family deals, pie bar creations, picnic boxes, seasonal specials and hopefully plenty of reasons to pop in and treat yourselves. Every purchase, every share, every recommendation and every kind word genuinely makes a difference right now.

When you support a small business, you're not just buying a pie or a lunch - you're helping us keep our staff in work, continue serving our community and keep fighting for a dream that means everything to us.

To every single one of you who has supported us so far... thank you. We honestly wouldn't still be here without you.

This is just another hurdle. We'll find a way through it.
