On behalf of the family, friends and the team at Artisan, thank you to all who came to celebrate the life of Derek Mather. And we would like to extend our thanks to those who logged into the livestream to celebrate with us.

Today was all about Derek, and the tributes that has poured in from all corners of the world has given the family some comfort in knowing how loved and well known he is for his love, cooking and whisky.

For those who made the journey today, thank you.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Derek Mather, affectionately known as "Chef".
Derek was rushed to the hospital yesterday morning after becoming seriously unwell. Despite the best efforts of the staff and nurses at Wishaw General Hospital, Derek, sadly, passed away.

Derek was a Husband to Fiona, Son to Marion & William, Brother to Nicola and an Uncle. He was loved by so many from near and far, and expressed love to his family and friends.

Derek's legacy will live on within all of us who knew him, and will keep his name and memory alive, may that be in sharing memories, a dram, or stories of his antics.

He was a man that always put family first, and always had a whisky order processing.

The family would like to ask for privacy during this very difficult time while we navigate this massive tragic loss together.

Hi everyone, Unfortunately we are having to close the Restaurant from tomorrow (Monday 27th April) due to unforeseen circumstances.

All bookings from tomorrow are having to be cancelled and an update will be out with you all shortly.

Hi folks just to let you know what’s happening at Artisan Restaurant in April

Sunday the 5th we have our Easter set menu running all day ( booking is recommended 01698 373 893

Friday the 10th we have the Artisan whisky club which is held in the snug area of the restaurant
This consists of 4 specialty selected drams and a selection of hot nibbles and some great banter from the chef and fiona this costs £25 per person and spaces are limited

And this months whisky night is on Wednesday the 22nd and is being hosted by Little Brown Dog Spirits
This will consist of 6 fantastic drams and a representative from the company to talk you through the drams all paired with a 4 course meal
And this costs £45 per person (booking Essential for the whisky night )

We have been messing around in the kitchen today and it looks like this was the winner voted by the staff ( and a couple of our customers)

Our 100% home made beef pate, topped with lanark haggis , local scotch pie and finished off with our whisky peppercorn sauce ,

So this might make a special appearance on our weekend menu

Also for the weekend we have 3x 18oz T-bone steaks and these are £25 each

Hi folks just a wee bit of info for what is happening in March at Artisan Restaurant

On Friday the 13th we have our Artisan whisky club which is held in the Snug , 4 specially selected drams , some nice hot nibbles from the kitchen and a load of banter from chef and fiona
These spaces are limited and costs £25 per person always advisable to book your space

On Sunday the 15th we have Mother’s Day we will be running a 3 course set menu all day which will cost £19.95 per person ( spaces are filling up so make your reservation soon )menu will be ready soon

And on Wednesday the 18th we have our monthly whisky night and this month it’s being hosted by the fantastic GlenAllachie distillers and looks like it will be a busy night with fantastic drams
As per normal our whisky nights consist of 6 drams and a 4 course meal and a representative from the distillery to talk you through the drams
And these nights cost £45 per person ( spaces are limited for this night )
