We’re delighted to announce a limited supply of heavy, Autumnal honey from Windsor Hive 2.

This creates a set of 4 single hive honeys each with a distinctive flavour and texture profile.

🌼 W4 – Pale Gold: Delicate, light and heavily floral, with flavours reminiscent of spring flowers. Wisdom's personal favourite.
🍯 W3 – Amber: A lovely middle ground: richer summer flavours combined with distinct floral tones.
☀️ W2 Summer - Cognac Amber: Deeper, richer and fuller, with the character of summer honey and just a subtle floral hint. Carole's favourite.
👑 W2 Autumn - Pale & semi-set; Bold & complex; Initial flavour breaker is intensely strong, earthy, and herbal; Middle & Finish waves are herbal, eucalyptus-like-aniseed notes; Aftertaste undercurrent is a faint lingering bitterness

* Autumn honey is predominantly made from the nectar of common ivy (Hedera helix), often blended with late-season plants like heather or aster.
* It contains high amounts of glucose to fructose sugars so is prone to crystallising hard, which makes the honey difficult to use. To avoid this the honey is slowly whisked to create a semi set honey: the goal is to prevent large crystals forming.

In a new review paper, Dr. Hannes Bonhoff of Lund University and Dr. Heikki Helanterä from the University of Oulu argue that the departing swarm represents the parent colony leaving with its queen, while afterswarms may allow it to produce multiple offspring.

Our 2026 Gandas Honey Windsor harvest is finally here — raw honey, simply double cold-filtered and bottled, with the harvest from each of three Windsor hives kept separate so you can experience their naturally different colours and flavours.

And what a difference there is; it feels like you can taste the different flowers.

All three were produced by bees tended in Windsor, yet each colony has produced honey with its own distinctive colour and character. That's part of the wonder of genuine local honey: the bees choose where they forage, which flowers they prefer, then every hive and harvest tells a different story.

We want to apologise for our relative absence over the last 2 years: It’s been difficult as we’ve been caring for my mother who had terminal cancer. Sadly she died this Summer.

Juliana was laid to rest is a beautiful, flowery, colourful ceremony; she was a colourful person who bore her suffering with dignity, never letting it stop her reaching out to others; She always loved the honey our buzzers produced.

As things settle down we’ll start posting again and let you know when the 2026 crop is available for sale.

Shout out to Natalie Prince from Darling Buds of Windsor for her stunning, evocative, floral displays; my mum would have loved them 🙏🏾
