We’re Matt and Alex, a brother and sister who share a life-long love affair with good food. Lily & Arthur’s Bar & Kitchen is our space, bringing great food, drink and experiences to you. From breakfasts to start the morning, delicious sandwiches and salads during the day to fresh sourdough pizzas in the evening, every ingredient is truly Lily & Arthur’s own - even our sourdough tin loaf bread is b

aked in-house! From Thursday-Saturday, we serve delicious meals, all made from scratch in our kitchen and enjoyed by guests inside, outside if the Wigan weather’s kind enough, or to take away. Our fully-licensed and stocked draught bar is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, serving drinks, hand-stretched sourdough pizzas, antipasti and nibbles in a relaxed setting that welcomes guests to settle down, chat, eat and drink. On a Sunday, relax with a drink and a snack from our bar menu from 2pm. Come on in – we can’t wait to serve you!

A day of mixed emotions: Yesterday, we handed back the keys to our landlord - and as much as it’s good to have closure, it’s also very sad as Lily & Arthur’s has been part of our lives for so long now. Who knows what the future holds 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I do know drinking good coffee, baking cakes + building community is what I love. You’ll find me over at continuing the baking dream, from my home kitchen! 🍰🧁

🗝️Our landlord was inundated with the amount of people interested in the building, and ultimately it was down to him as to who the keys were handed over to! We wish the new guys at No 37 Bar + Bistro success and a long, enjoyable future on Mesnes Road! 👏🏻

✨IT’S THE END OF THE ROAD✨
It is with the saddest of hearts and much deliberation we have made the difficult decision to close our doors at Lily & Arthur’s. It’s been a challenging time for our industry as a whole over the past few years and unfortunately there are a number of factors beyond our control that have led to us having to say goodbye to the community we have built here.

We want to thank you, our loyal customers, who have supported us over the past 9 and a half years; what a pleasure it has been - we have loved every minute of serving and getting to know you & your families. We have made so many memories here and we are grateful for all your support. 🫶

One last thing, wherever you can - please support your local independent businesses over the big chains, you don’t know how much they need you!
