HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY TO US🎉🎊

Three years ago, after a long buying process we finally took over and got the keys for this historic chippy on Gidlow lane! Let’s just say what a three years it’s been 😂😅!! From getting our safe stolen (lesson learnt… no cash or valuables left on site anymore), burst boiler tanks flooding the shop, drainage cleaning scams, chippers and peeling machines giving up on us at the worst time meaning we were hand peeling and cutting the chips. Those sleepless nights in the early days when we didn’t have enough customers coming through the doors to pay the wages.



Little by little when finance allowed, we changed the shop around, we rebuilt, revamped and overhauled the whole food menu from the previous owner’s, sourcing better quality fresh foods, expanding the menu and putting pride and effort behind everything we did. Slowly but surely the customers came and week on week we saw it growing before our eyes.



Gemma took over managing the shop two years ago and we saw an influx of customers which was evidently down to the effort she puts in, her customer service and amazing food she cooks. We built a great team of staff always up for the work and having banter with our customers.



Some unexpected amazing things have come from the chippy such as opportunities to help support Community Corner promoting people getting together over a fish and chips on Wednesday, to feeding the children over the summer at the play box. Most recently being able to support the Scout hut with their refurbishments.



We have come a long way in three years and still have big plans for the chippy so we just want to say thank you to all our wonderful customers for their support, we couldn’t have done it without you and hope we have given the community the chippy it deserves. Also thanks you to all the family and friends who have helped us to get to this point! Especially big shout out to Gemma, my brother Oliver and my Dad Alan who have very often turned up (unpaid 😅) to help with any of the jobs we needed doing, especially those unplanned emergency situations! We love you all very much.

📣THE SCOUTS NEED YOUR HELP📣



7th Wigan (All Saints) Scout Group on Delph Street has been around for decades and is a massive part of our community especially for local children and obviously well known for its legendary bonfires and fireworks display.



This Saturday 29th August the scouts are reaching out to the local community and hosting a fun day to help raise money to carry out essential maintenance on the bathroom, kitchen and roof of the scout hut.



We are going to donate 100% of our profits from this Fridays (28th August) takings to support the Scout group so if you fancy a chippy tea this Friday would be a great time to get down here! We have donated a prize to the raffle so please get down and support the scouts on Saturday also.
