We are super excited to head into the festive season. Our Festive menus are now available to collect and should be online in the next day or so our festive menu will be available from 18th November - 23rd December ( If dining on a Sunday throughout December please see our Sunday Lunch Menu)
Here’s some info on Christmas Party Nights & group bookings.
CHRISTMAS 2026
As most of you will know we are closed Mondays & Tuesdays but we will be
OPEN
Monday 21st December & Tuesday 22nd December
Monday 28th December & Tuesday 29th December
We are ClOSED
25th & 26th December and 1st January
We're shifting to autumn/winter mode in a big way and there will be hearty, heartwarming big hitters all winter long. Unfortunately, It’s time to say goodbye to some of our summer favs but don’t worry Chef John has planned Winter Warmers galore. Chef Specials will be changing weekly and available Thursday – Saturday from 5pm and will run alongside our main menus.
Pop in for a coffee ☕️ catch up over tea & toast - We now serve Breakfast every Thursday & Friday from 9am then Saturdays from 10am. We are serving our famous roasts every Sunday 12- 6pm and dont forget Sunday Night Quiz is a great way to get out during the cooler months. Quiz starts at 7pm every Sunday and is the perfect way to round off the weekend.
Just out for the party
Join us anytime for drinks no need to book, tables free up after food service and we have plenty of space in our outdoor heated space from live sport to live music. Live music starts a 9pm every Saturday and it’s Free Entry 🍻
We know how much you guys are craving something different, so with that in mind we are hoping to plan some great special events and big days. We have will be belting out the Christmas tunes & serving lots of Mulled W**e, Beers & Bratwurst - Be sure to wrap up and enjoy the Christmas Feels.
Now we do summer well but there’s just something about the old place during the winter months. The heatings cranked up, the candles lit, the leaves have fallen and it’s super cosy inside.The Garden Room is still the perfect spot for a cheeky pint after walking the dogs around Vicky on those crisp, clear, sunny days.
Opening Hours
No Mondays or Tuesdays round here, for now it's five fabulous days a week. Food served Wednesday - Open 12-3pm / 5pm-8pm
Thursday & Friday 9am - 8pm
Saturday 10am - 8pm
Sunday 12- 6pm , Drinks till late.
Please note our Christmas Opening Hours will differ. We are OPEN Monday & Tuesday 21st & 22nd / 28th & 29th December.
We will be CLOSED 25th & 26th December and 1st January.
Reservations
We won’t be at the phone Mondays or Tuesdays but we now have a new online booking system, you can BOOK ONLINE by clicking the link at the top of our website or via Google. Please note – to avoid any surprises the system will not accept same day bookings or tables over 8 for same day bookings you can still call us directly from Wednesday onwards Tel: 0151 4244077
If you would like to make a general enquiry you can drop us a message through the contact form or via our socials, please note when on shift we don’t always get a chance to check our messages and it can take up to 48hrs for us to get back in touch, if you need us urgently please call us on the number above.
Large Group Bookings
Larger group bookings of 10 or more will be required to pay a non refundable deposit of £10pp that will be taken from your bill. You can pay over the phone or by dropping into the pub, for ease of service a pre-order of your meal choices is needed and would be greatly appreciated three days in advance. We do understand sometimes it’s a last minute plan to meet up so we will always do our best to accommodate walk-ins and groups that have not pre-booked. We also have a large heated garden room that is available for walk-ins and for those wanting to bring well behaved dogs along.

Sat 19th 9pm - Adam Cafferty (From The Acoustic Odds) Brillant live vocals Adam will be belting out all those classics you know & love
Thursday 31st 9pm - The fantastic Ste Kelly will be singing us into the New Year. Here's to 2027🥂
Our Menus
Our dishes are freshly prepared whilst you wait, from butcher to grill, We are very proud to offer you some of the best quality produce around. We have a fantastic brigade of qualified Chefs who get creative producing some of the best homemade food in Widnes.
Our festive dishes will run alongside a good selection of our main pub classics, breakfast & lunch menus so there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the festive season.
