Hi Everyone,

We’ve seen all the rumours and are very sorry to say that it has now been confirmed by our landlords. The Majors has been sold. So barring any issues with the contractual side, it’s now a done deal.

We really didn’t hear anything until 11.45am today and are all absolutely gutted. We’ve been on Millfield road for almost 30 years now and this is horrible for us to witness.

We dont know who the new owners are or what plans they have, so until then we just have to sit and wait.

Hopefully this lockdown will be lifted so we can have you all in for a pint before things change...

On the plus side, there’s five hours to go until we have to close and there’s loads of beer in the cellar... Why not get your arse down for a few beers before we close the doors again...

Hi Guys,

It is with a tremendously heavy heart that we must announce that due to the government guidelines placing our area into tier 3 (VERY HIGH) of the National COVID Alert System, The Majors will close from 10pm this evening for the foreseeable future.

On the plus side, we will be working behind the scenes while we are closed to make sure that the pub is ready to welcome you all back when the government restrictions are lifted but for now we must stay closed in order to keep our staff and customers out of harms way.

We are naturally devastated about the whole situation but we will be back hopefully with one or two surprises as soon as we are allowed to by the restrictions.

We would like to thank all of our lovely customers for your support over recent weeks and months and we look forward to welcoming you back when it is safe for us to do so.
