Phonics with a splash of colour at The Clever Fox Club!๐ฆโจ
This week, we've been swapping our pencils and paper for paintbrushes and paint!๐จ
Our learners have been practising their phonics, spelling patterns and tricky words in a more creative and engaging way!
The best part? This activity can be adapted for all ages and abilities! ๐
Whether your child is just beginning their phonics journey by learning letter sounds and CVC words (cat, dog, sun), developing their knowledge of special friends (sh, ch, th, ai, ee), or practising more complex spelling patterns and vocabulary, painting is a fantastic way to reinforce their learning!
But it's not just about making spelling more exciting! Painting our words also helps to develop:
๐๏ธ Fine motor skills โ strengthening the small muscles in our hands and fingers.
โ๏ธ Letter formation โ practising how to form letters correctly through a different approach.
๐ง Memory and retention โ using a multisensory approach to help reinforce sounds and spelling patterns.
๐ Hand-eye coordination โ developing control and precision when forming letters.
๐ Confidence and motivation โ making spelling practice feel less like a task and more like an enjoyable activity!
One of the things I love about tutoring is finding different ways to help children learn. Not every child learns best with a pencil and paper, and sometimes a simple change in approach can make all the difference! ๐
At The Clever Fox Club, learning is tailored to each child's individual needs, abilities and interests. ๐ฆ๐
